Andy Warhol museum

wearing: sunglasses / earrings / sweater / nail polish / jeans / handbag / sneakers /

I am a huge Andy Warhol fan. So, when I was in Pittsburgh, it was only natural that the Andy Warhol museum was must-see on my list!

The museum has six stories of fabulous art and history surrounding Warhol. I loved seeing his early art all the way through to his films. It was also fun seeing his personal belongings, his collection of Fiesta (yes! he had Fiesta plates etc.), autographed items from celebrities, commercial art, artists who were inspired by him, photo with the pope, and more!

I didn’t want to post too many pictures of his pieces here on the blog because I think it is much more interesting in person. His transition into film is extremely interesting too. I highly recommend going to the Andy Warhol museum in person. It is amazing and you won’t regret it!

You can learn more about the museum at Warhol.org. I highly recommend visiting!

Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for more from Pennsylvania on the blog!

Duquesne Incline in Pittsburgh

wearing: sunglasses / earrings / sweater / nail polish / jeans / handbag / sneakers /

When I found out there was a steep incline in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, I had to check it out! After all, here in San Francisco we are very familiar with steep hills, I just didn’t realize other states had them too! haha, Call me provincial!

So, in Pittsburgh PA, they have a couple historic inclines which were built in the late 1800’s to help workers get from the train to their homes up a very steep hill. We decided to ride on the Duquesne Incline which has a parking lot at the bottom of the hill where you can see where the three rivers meet. Of course, the view from the top of the incline is even better!

The ride was really fun, and it was only $5 round trip per person: cash only. We loved the historic finishes on the incline and seeing the working museum with historic machinery that keeps the incline running smoothly. Love!

At the top of the incline, there is a viewing area where you can see a fabulous view of Pittsburgh and also where the Steelers play. Of course, I still say “Go Niners!” haha, but I digress. . .

We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Steel Mill Saloon where I enjoyed a mushroom and Swiss burger. It was really good; I highly recommend it!

The ride back down the incline was fun and it was nice to see the view a second time. If you are ever in the Pittsburgh area, I highly recommend taking a ride on the Duquesne Incline! It’s so much fun and a mini-history lesson! Love that!

Thanks for stopping by, and stay tuned for more from my trip to Pennsylvania!

Winter walk in Bellefonte

wearing: earrings / sunglasses / coat (similar here) / long sleeve tee / nail polish / handbag / jeans / sneakers /

Landed in Pennsylvania! I took a red eye flight and by the time I landed, picked up my rental car, picked up my daughter, ate lunch, and checked into the hotel, I was beat! So, we decided to do something low key before getting ready for dinner.

Bellefonte always decorates for Christmas, and since the city is historical, it is always beautiful and nostalgic. We took a leisurely walk through the park and enjoyed the beautiful decorations, the adorable ducks, and the scenery. It’s so pretty!

After we enjoyed the park, we walked through the historic downtown and enjoyed taking in more historic sites than the last time we visited Bellefonte. It’s such a beautiful city!

I am thankful I wore my new sneakers because they were incredibly comfortable. I was able to insert my orthotics inside, so my planter fasciitis was pain-free. Love that!

What I wore for exploring Bellefonte:

Stay tuned for more destinations from our Thanksgiving week trip to Pennsylvania!

Thanks for stopping by!
