New York Fashion Week started on September 10, 2016, and calling it a rainy day is an understatement! Torrential downpour might be a better way to describe the crazy weather!

After leaving 102 degrees behind in the San Francisco Bay Area, and arriving in New York to a cool 80-something, the rain was welcomed. The only challenging part was trying to make my way from show to show in the rain!

The logistics for fashion week are downright insane. I spent half the day in a cab or Uber car. There were a few moments when I found myself walking a little bit too much in the rain; and high heels. I was on my feet from roughly 8:30am to 10pm. It was a long day and my heels were as comfortable as high heels can be. Thank goodness for the chunky heel trend!

Day one of New York Fashion Week was a fun one! I saw Nicholas K, Leanne Marshall, Marissa Webb, Malan Breton, and Yuma Yang. Justin Nunez went to Desigual and photographed the show for me since it was at the same time as Marissa Webb. His photos are amazing, I cannot wait to share them with you!

Since it was a long day, wearing culottes and chunky heels was a comfortable yet city-chic way to get through the day. I felt dressed up yet un-fussy. I never thought I would wear culottes, and here I am! Yikes! I actually like them, is something wrong with me?

Be sure to follow along on Instagram for updates on New York Fashion Week through my eyes.

Last weekend was my last relaxing time before leaving for New York Fashion Week this week. I already had my schedule figured out, travel arrangements nailed down, outfits planned, and the only thing left to do was pack! So to go along with my relaxed vibe, I wore casual outfits such as these boyfriend jeans paired with a beautiful Lotus Leap Bracelet.

Lotus Leap is a fabulous jewelry company based in the South Bay. I love Lotus Leap’s customizable jewelry; and the fact that they are in the Bay Area! Love local designers!

With Lotus Leap, you can pick out the style of bracelet you would like. After choosing a bracelet style, you can choose charms you would like on your bracelet based on color, style, or what speaks to you! Love that!

I love my new Lotus Leap Bracelet. The angel in the middle reminds me of my faith, and the sparkling circles on either side of the angel show my subtle glam side. The color is perfect for fall too. I’m in love!

Lotus Leap Bracelets are affordably priced, and since they are customizable, they will make great gifts this upcoming holiday season. Lotus Leap even has a Christmas Tree charm! How perfect will that be for holiday parties, gifts, and eveything holiday related!

Since the bracelets are adjustable, they can also be designed for young girls. My eleven-year-old daughter has already asked me for one of her own! Perhaps Santa will slip one into her stocking this upcoming Christmas 😉

Lotus Leap Jewelry can be found, and customized, online at LotusLeap.com or at Oakridge Mall in San Jose at a kiosk near the food court.

Ah, the 70’s trend! I am in love with this trend. One of the fabulous aspects of the 70s trend, is the a-line midi skirts; especial the suede skirts.

I love how a-line midi skirts look. The a-line silhouette is always flattering; and the midi skirt is modest enough to always be appropriate. Love that!

One of my favorite 70s style skirts is the suede skirt. This rich brown, suede skirt I am wearing has a front pleat, a-line silhouette, and soft suede fabrication. I am in love!

The rich brown hue, coupled with the vintage 70s silhouette, is making this one of my favorite skirts for the upcoming fall 2015 season! Although suede can be a warm fabrication, I did manage to wear this skirt for morning mass last weekend. Of course, once the fog burned off, I had to change.

Suede skirts instantly transport me back to the 1970s. I was a little girl, so my memory is fuzzy, but I do remember my Mom’s clothing. This could be due to the fact that I thought her closet was my dress-up playground; much to her chagrin.

I remember my Mom wearing a brown suede skirt with buttons running down the front in the late 1970s. She wore it with her silk, patchwork blouse, as well as other silk blouses. She has always loved silk blouses, and can be found wearing them often to this day.

I always thought this suede skirt of hers was so soft and luxurious. I thought she looked beautiful in it! As a result, I have been waiting for midi suede skirts to come back in fashion so that I too, can wear a midi brown suede skirt!

Does the current 70s trend conger up any childhood memories for you too?
