Casual, summer boyfriend jeans, have become my go-to on days when I want to be comfortable. They are loose fitting, the fabric gives, and they look more like I am wearing real clothing then running around town in yoga pants. Although boyfriend jeans are not what one would refer to as “slimming,” they are comfortable, and easy to dress up or down. Those facts alone make them a winner in my closet!

I have worn my summer boyfriend jeans with high wedges, low heels, and also flat shoes. In the pictures above, I wore my boyfriend jeans to Santana Row with a pair of espadrille/sneaker hybrids. It was very comfortable! I was with my two daughters, who both took these pictures, and knew I would be doing a lot of walking. The shoes, and jeans, were the perfect combination for walking, shopping, and spending time with my two girls.

We were at Santana Row so I could check out some Father’s Day gift ideas, and put together a gift guide for Father’s Day, which you can read online here. After we took pictures of my favorite gift ideas, we went to Lisa’s Tea Treasures for tea. It was so much fun!

If you have never been to Lisa’s Tea Treasures, I highly recommend going. The tea food is filling, and makes a great lunch. The service is fabulous, and it is a great opportunity to teach your kids table manners; if you have children.

How often do you serve formal tea at home? If you are like me, once every ten years-if that! Going to Lisa’s Tea Treasures is definitely a great opportunity to teach tea time etiquette to the kids. They have a kids tea which includes a small slice of cheese pizza, mini corn dogs, ice cream, and fruity tea. My daughters love it! You can see my meal on my Instagram online here. That was cannoli cake, and it was pure heaven!

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, the fog rolls in, and out, from the ocean, and the bay. One of the key pieces every fashionista in the Bay Area needs in her closet during the summer months, is a light wrap! I am always on the hunt for fabulous, light wraps to throw over an outfit when the fog rolls in; or to wear before the fog rolls out!

I was thrilled to find this beautiful summer kimono by Shein for the summer months. It is the perfect topper for any summer ensemble when the fog is all the way in; or just looming over the mountains.

May has been on the cool side. We have been having weather which hovers in the fifties,  sixties, and low seventies throughout the month. Now that June is here tomorrow, we can expect our traditional “June Gloom” to kick in, thus the need for a fabulous, fashionable wrap! This Shein kimono fits the bill perfectly. Love!

This summer kimono has been perfect to wear over flares while the clouds, and fog, have kept the hot sun out. As we move away from our cloud cover and fog, and roll into the hotter summer months, this kimono will be fabulous over a simple tank dress, or paired with a pencil skirt, or worn over shorts and a tee shirt. It is the perfect way to take a simple, casual outfit and transform it into something amazing. I am in love!

This is the first piece I have owned from Shein. I love the affordable prices, and fashionable collection they offer throughout their website. I am looking forward to adding more pieces to my wardrobe from Shein!

What is your favorite way to cover up on foggy days?

Kimono’s I love from Shein which also happen to be on sale! Love that! ->

Fun way to wear a vintage brooch

navy spring dressdinner dress ideahow to wear a vintage broochfun way to wear a vintage brooch

Have you ever wondered how to wear a vintage brooch? Or perhaps you want to wear a vintage brooch in a new, and unexpected way; so you are looking for a fun way to wear a vintage brooch. I accidentally discovered a new way to wear my coveted vintage brooch last week!

This vintage brooch was originally purchased by my Mother in the 1960’s. It is a beautiful, sparkling green brooch which shines brighter than an emerald. I have loved this brooch since I was a small child; playing dress up in my Mother’s closet. When I asked to borrow it one day in my mid-20’s, my Mom told me she doesn’t wear it anymore, and knowing how much I have always loved it, told me I could keep it! Yay! Since then, I have always treasured this brooch as if it were a million dollar piece of jewelry.

Last Thursday, I was putting on my dress, pictured above, for the Junior League Sustainer dinner. I had eaten a thousand calorie lunch that day, and was a bit bloated; or maybe I have gained weight and will not admit it. Ha! Anyway, the button at the waist was popping a bit, and I really wanted to make this outfit happen. So, instead of pinning the brooch where I would normally place a name tag, I thought it might be the perfect cover-up for the popping waist button. It worked!

Not only did the brooch hide the popping button, it added a new dimension to the outfit as a whole. I love it! I feel like I have accidentally found a new, fun way to wear a vintage brooch. I am looking forward to wearing it like a belt buckle, without hiding a popping button, on future outfits.

What is your favorite way to wear a vintage brooch?
