New York Fashion Week takes a lot of energy. The first show usually starts at 9am with the last show beginning at 9pm. When I am on the go, I prefer to keep my look simple and fuss-free. This clean look felt perfect on September 7, 2013. The pieces were soft and comfortable.

I loved how Twisted Silver’s new “Grace” necklace brought out the colors in the skirt and made the otherwise simple outfit look finished. The new “Grace” necklace is timeless and offers layers of brass and copper which are  statement-making. Love it! The necklace is priced at $60 and can be found online atTwisted-Silver.com. If you use coupon code INSIDERS you will save 15% off your purchase!

Of course the high heels did not stay on all day. I brought a pair of flats which I slipped on after lunch. Fashion week can be hard on your feet! What are your favorite shoes for days when you need to walk or stand a lot?

New York Fashion Week spring/summer 2014!

I arrived at Lincoln Center on Friday, September 6, 2013 and picked up my press pass. It was so exciting to be there! The credential office was across the street from Lincoln Center and was filled with other editors and photographers. I loved seeing the photographers and their huge equipment! Many of the photographers carry multiple suitcases filled with equipment to each show. It was amazing to see how they tote the suitcases easily, without a fuss. I can only imagine how heavy and bulky they must be!

Outside Lincoln Center is a scene in and of itself. There were hundreds of people just hanging around who were not associated with the shows. The people in the courtyard were a combination of tourists, street style photographers and people dressed up and lingering around in the hopes a street style photographer would snap their picture. It was quite an interesting sight to see!

I wore high heels on the first day while I was still fresh. I have to admit, after the first few shows I went back to the hotel and switched to these Rebecca Minkoff flats in black. My feet were very happy to switch to flats, even if they didn’t quite look right with my outfit. Sometimes we have to value comfort over style

Stay tuned! More posts about New York Fashion Week are on their way; including the shows I attended!
