One of my favorite trends of the moment is the trench coat trend. Why have I not worn it until now?? Has it seemed to classic? Is it because the Burberry trench coat I own has sat in the back of my closet for over a decade-unworn? Do I always need to have something something new, no matter how classic and timeless the design? Ugh, I digress. . .

Apparently I do need something new, no matter how timeless! I love this sleeveless trench coat for spring 2019. It is great to layer over jeans on a cool spring day. It can also be worn as a dress when the weather warms up! Can’t wait for that warm weather! It is sooooooooo cold this year!!

A trench coat is such an easy way to elevate an outfit this spring season. It can easily be thrown over jeans and a tee, to create a put-together look which is simple and effortless. I’m loving this trench trend!

I wore this outfit the other day while out with my kids. We enjoyed a fun pizza lunch, and then took my son to the Lego store so he could spend his allowance on a new Lego set from the Lego Movie 2. My son is a huge Lego fan, and the movies are his favorite! So this was a really fun outing for him

This outfit was perfect for walking around, and spending time with my kids. I was comfortable enough to walk around with them, yet felt put together enough to walk around Valley Fair without looking too casual. This trench is my new go-to for casual times I don’t want to look so casual! haha

I was so excited when I bought this fashionable winter coat under $100. It’s a classic plaid pattern with a modern silhouette. I love how it drapes, plus it’s super cozy! So, when I picked up these fun winter boots, I thought I would wear them together. Ooops!

It is entirely possible I need to make sure I look in the mirror before I leave the house. When I looked at these photos on my laptop, I wasn’t thrilled with the pairing. I love these boots, but not with this coat. I also love this coat, but not with these boots. I should have worn my charcoal booties with the coat, and my black cardigan sweater with the boots! Ugh, hindsight is 20/20.

What I did learn from this pairing, is that although they don’t match, both of these items are comfortable. These boots will be fabulous next February in New York for fashion week since they have a lug sole and a fun faux fur trim. This coat will be cozy in New York too-just paired with different shoes. haha

I plan to wear both pieces quite often over the course of the next few months. They are fun pieces to add to my winter wardrobe, too bad I didn’t look in the mirror before leaving the house! haha

I wore this outfit the other day while strolling Santana Row with my friend Dawn from Fashion Should Be Fun. It was fun to see all the holiday decorations while dressed for winter. I love that the weather has cooled down, and that we can all wear our warm clothing now!

Have you noticed the teddy coat trend? This winter, one of the biggest trends in coats is the teddy coat! These are seemingly faux fur coats with short and tight “hair” which is soft, cuddly, and warm; just like a teddy bear!

There is something so comforting about a teddy coat, it really does offer instant familiarity; much like a teddy bear. When I first found this cozy blue teddy coat, I instantly felt connected to it; like it was something which had been in my closet for years, and was something I reached for everyday. If something calls me like that, I have to buy it!

I was originally drawn to this coat because the blue is a vivid hue which is part of the spring color palette. This prompted me to decide it was the perfect coat to purchase now, and save for fashion week in February. Well. . . remember how I said it seemed to “call” me? There was no way I was going to wait until February to wear this coat; it only took me two weeks to break down and wear it. So much for saving something for fashion week! haha

This teddy coat will definitely come with me to New York for fashion week, but I will continue to reach for it often before then! When I wear it at fashion week, instead of styling it casually for everyday wear, I will do my best to amp it up and make it worthy of the New York Fashion Week streets; promise!

I wore this outfit when I went out with my family to the Tech Museum before Christmas. My daughter took these photos while we were walking from the parking lot, to the Tech Museum. If you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area, I highly recommend visiting the Tech Museum in downtown San Jose. They have so many fun, and educational activities for kids! We have the annual pass, and find ourselves discovering new things every time we go. We also caught the new Star Wars movie there since the Tech Museum has an IMAX theater.

If you get carsick, I do not recommend seeing this movie in IMAX. My oldest daughter gets carsick, and didn’t fare too well during this movie. I still had the flu and I have to admit, I felt pretty seasick too. That being said. . .the Star Wars movie was amazing, and I highly recommend catching it! Maybe just not on IMAX. haha
