We finally have summer weather! Love that! For the summer 2023 season, I am looking forward to keeping things casual and simple. I updated my shorts wardrobe to include two pairs of denim shorts in different washes and also a fun pair of lightweight pants to wear on foggy days, or when the weather is slightly cooler.

My tees and tops are casual this summer too. I have gravitated towards shades of blue and green for the summer months. Since investment dressing is hot right now, my personal style is in a happy place. I have always been a huge advocate for investment dressing and spicing up a seasonal wardrobe with one or two trendy pieces. This summer, I am forgoing the trendy pieces and sticking to basics.

In addition to shorts and lightweight pants, I have dresses from last summer which will work perfectly again this summer. My dresses are all extremely affordable and priced under $50. When you hear the term “investment dressing” you might think this means purchasing expensive items, it does not. Investment dressing is about sticking to pieces which transcend trends, fit well, and offer good quality. You can find this in affordable clothing! Love that! Happy spring! I normally organize my capsule wardrobe a couple weeks before the season begins, but this year, the weather has been so wintery, spring was not on my radar and my capsule wardrobe was a little slow! In order to adjust to this year’s wintery weather pattern, my spring capsule wardrobe is a bit warmer than in spring season’s past.

This spring, I am incorporating knits which I will wear a layering tee underneath. In addition, these knits can easily be topped with a blazer or jacket to stay warm. Why is it so cold this year? Ugh. . .

Thankfully, blazers are still a hot trend as menswear continues to dominate the runways and influence the streets. This blazer has been a mainstay in my wardrobe over the past three years, as it is a classic tweed blazer which plays well with any color scheme. Love that!

As I move away from skinny jeans, I have fallen in love with the jeans from Express since they offer short lengths. You can read my full review here. These two pairs in the photo above will be perfect for the spring season.

Classic jewelry is always in style, and this year it is the ultimate jewelry style to wear. I am in love with these silver pieces from Lois Hill, you can read more about the designer here.

Viva Magenta! How fun is the color of the year for 2023!? Love! I am really happy my vintage wool scarf is the color of 2023, especially since I purchased it in 1999! A scarf is a really easy way to add a pop of color to any winter look. If you are looking for a scarf, I love this one under $100. It’s a good quality scarf as I have the same one in green, blue, and light pink. You will love it!

My winter 2023 capsule wardrobe is similar to my fall and holiday capsule wardrobes; with the exception of the pop of color. Since winter is the first season in January, I wanted my color accent to be Viva Magenta; the color of 2023!

The styles from the fall and holiday seasons have remained the same. We are looking at blazers with jeans, power suits for the office or dressier occasions, wide or flare jeans, and a general nod to the trends from the turn of the century.
