Playful casual summer look

wearing: mother of pearl and rose gold earrings / Chanel summer lipstick / Chanel sunglasses / white ruffle top  (under $60!) / rose gold cuff / Essie summer nail polish c/o / black leather strap and rose gold watch / boyfriend jeans / Givenchy Antigona / black espadrille wedges (under $100!!)

It is entirely possible I am obsessed with this season’s ruffle trend. I have stocked up on four tops this year with ruffles! I’m not counting peplum as ruffles; do you count peplum as ruffles? It seems like a lot of pieces from one trend, but when you love something, why not go all in!

You might be tired of seeing me in my boyfriend jeans, after all, I have owned them for a couple of years now, but they really work well with all of the ruffle tops I’ve aquired for 2017; and they create a daytime ruffle look which is comfortable and easy to wear. When paired with skinny jeans, I find ruffle tops take on more of an evening look; at least here in the Bay Area.

I wore this summer ruffle top outfit to meet up with my friend Dawn from FashionShouldBeFun.com. She is one of my best blogging buddies, and she has turned out to be a great friend! If you are not already following her, be sure to follow along!

We met up at Pizza Antica at Santana Row for lunch to catch up on life, and talk about new trends in web design. When you blog, you work alone, so it is nice to have other blogger friends to talk to about things like web design, and other business topics related to blogging. I’m always looking for ways to tweak my site to make it easier for you navigate, if you have any suggestions, likes/dislikes, feel free to leave them in the comments below!

After lunch, I went home and finished planning our summer camp schedule. I am a little frightened at how many camps I signed my kids up for! We have art camp, baseball camp, archery camp, tennis camp, lego camp, and writing classes! Whew! I might need to clone myself to drive my kids to and from all their camps this summer!!

This ruffle top was perfect for my busy day since the fabric was comfortable, and the off-the-shoulder sleeve actually stayed off without constantly popping over-the-shoulder like so many tops do! It can also be worn with both shoulders down, but I like how it looks one up, one down. Although it sustained a few wrinkles, they were not that noticeable, and super easy to iron out when I got home. I cannot believe it was under $60!! I think it will look cute dressed up this summer with a black pencil skirt for more of an evening look, and a small black shoulder bag.

Have you scheduled out your summer yet? Have you ever over-scheduled summer like me? (searching for beach days!!)

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

Casual summer pants

wearing: rose gold earrings / Chanel sunglasses / Chanel summer lipstick / black linen tee / rose gold cuff / Essie summer nail polish / Mansur Gavriel bag / black leather strap watch / blue printed pants (comfortable-under $100!!) / black espadrille wedges (so comfy-under $100!!)

It is that time of year when the weather gets warmer, and the days get busier! Seriously, May has been crazy! My kids have had irregular schedules with extra activities, end of year events; and don’t get me started on my son’s ever-changing baseball play-off schedule! Ahh! When rest isn’t in my schedule, I need my clothing to be comfortable so that it can move quickly with me!

There is something comfortable about loose, lightweight pants. I love wearing pants which are not constricting, and have the same feel as pajamas; without the warm flannel fabric. These pants are fabulous because they are wide-leg, lightweight, and easy to throw in the washing machine. The big benefit of these pants? They are so comfortable! They are quickly becoming my go-to pants on casual, busy days!

My kids do not finish school until the second week of May. I am so thankful we were able to take a few quick trips during May to Disneyland, and then to Tahoe. The relaxing getaways were exactly what we all needed! Now, when do baseball play-offs end? I have no clue! New games seems to pop onto my schedule with less then two days notice. They may never end! Can baseball last forever? haha

My daughter snapped these pictures for me before we enjoyed a yummy lunch at Sushi Confidential in downtown Campbell the other day. It was the first time we have ever eaten there. To be frank, I never tried it because the name was not in Japanese. I assumed the sushi would taste like a taco at an American burger joint. I was wrong! The sushi is really good, and the fish is extremely fresh! Loved it! If you are local, you must try Sushi Confidential in Campbell! It’s so good!!

How is your May going? Do you find your schedule impossibly busy this month too?

Thanks for stopping by!

Summer casual Friday

Wearing: rose gold dangle earrings / Chanel sunglasses / lipstick c/o Estee Lauder / one cold shoulder tee / watch c/o Welly Merck (use code BAF20 to save 20% off ) / guitar strap (on major sale!) / casual black satchel / distressed boyfriend jeans / Chanel summer nail polish / Gucci slides (also love this pair under $70)

Happy Friday! Our summer weather is here, so it is time to start rolling out the summer weather wardrobe! Love! I love wearing these loose-fitting, distressed boyfriend jeans on warm days. The distressed portions are like built-in air conditioning! haha

This has become one of my go-to outfits for the warm weather season. Everything I am wearing is extremely comfortable, and easy to just throw on in the morning. Plus, these jeans and tee are machine wash cold. Love that! I can deal with clothing I cannot throw in the washing machine. I need to be able to wash and go with my clothes!

I wore this outfit while out with my ten-year-old daughter earlier this week. She took these photos and is showing a keen interest in photography. While my son and oldest daughter attend our local public school, I homeschool  my ten-year-old daughter through an online school. She has ADHD and the online school is a great set-up for her. They have different curriculum options, and we chose one which gives her the flexibility she needs to stay focused and on task.

The way her schooling works is genius. The school gives us a syllabus and all of the supplies, books, and workbooks she needs for the school-year. I administer the assignments, and organize her week. It’s great because on days when she is able to focus she can work ahead, and on days when she has trouble staying on task, we can stop working and do something else. Sometimes she does school work on the weekends, or after dinner; it just depends on when she feels like she can focus.

The online school she attends has been fabulous since they adjust her curriculum to fit her 170+ IQ. So her math is accelerated! It’s amazing! Plus, she has an accredited teacher she can go-to if something is beyond my expertise. We started to homeschool though an online school when she was in third grade and realized kids with ADHD fall through the cracks in the public school system, and private schools which cater to kids like her cost over $30K a year. We initially thought we would transition her back to public school for sixth grade, but she has decided she would like to continue online school for middle school.

So you might be wondering why I am bringing this up on a fashion blog, well, I do have a point! My daughter snapped these pictures for me and has shown an interest in learning more photography. I am thrilled because her school has a photography elective she can take in sixth grade and it is perfect for both of us! She is excited to learn more about using a DSLR and also learning the artistic side to photography. As a blogger mom, I will benefit because she will be my photographer! Technically, she already takes about one-third of my photos, so she is already my photog, but now, she will be able to take the camera out of auto and into manual. She is excited, and I am thrilled! Yay!

If you have a child with ADHD and you are struggling with your child’d school placement, feel free to contact me. We have been through it all! Her online school has been a lifesaver and has built up her confidence ten-fold. Plus, she has a 4.0 gpa and loves school! That is music to any parent’s ears.
