Open toe boots “booties” for fall

Open toe boots or “booties” as they are often referred to, were hot for fall 2011 and they have stayed on trend for the upcoming fall 2012 season. Open toe boots are a sassy alternative to traditional, classic boots and were spotted all over the runways in Paris, Milan, New York and London; and they have also been spotted dominating the streets.

Open toe boots are a great investment for the fall 2012 season as they are versatile and can be worn with almost any cool weather ensemble. Open toe boots are being shown with trousers and tailored dresses for the office, and jeans or sassy dresses for daytime casual. Open toe boots have also been spotted in glitter, sequins, satin and formal fabrications which make them an edgy alternative to a high heel for cocktail attire.

Although most open toe boots have been shown in classic black, brown or tan, there are eye-catching alternatives out there which include bright colors, suede, leopard print, pony hair and canvas. Whether you decide to rock this trend with a traditional hue or go for a trendier, of-the-moment fabrication such as leopard print, the open toe bootie is a great option for fall and will be more versatile than you may think.

We found a few fabulous open toe boots online for the fall 2012 season and assembled them into the photo sets above and below. Hope you love them! Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Stay bright on rainy days this spring

Oh the rain! Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have had an extremely dry winter. The mild climate and warm sunshine have allowed Fashionistas around Northern California to start wearing their fabulous spring clothing and accessories. The bright spring 2012 colors combined with the sunny weather have put everyone in the mood for the warm summer months. Of course, the rain has decided to come now, in the middle of March.

The March rains are seasonal. Every year we enjoy spring showers through April. The odd thing about this particular rain storm is that it just does not feel right! We have been enjoying spring weather over the past few months and going back to winter, for even just one week, feels odd.
Fortunately the bright spring colors of the season can keep us in our warm weather moods and brighten up even the dreariest of days. So toss aside that black umbrella, boring black rain boots and black nylon handbag. It is time to brighten up the grey sky!
Furla has fabulous spring handbags this season which also happen to be made from rubber. Perfect for the rain! These bright little numbers will also work perfectly when the weather is warm and sunny since a rubber handbag will survive a day at the beach and an entire summer by the pool.
In addition to Furla brightening up the world of handbags, there are so many fabulous and colorful rain boots on the market right now. Why would you wear black? Look for polka dots, yellow, bright green, festive blues and of course the color of the year; Tangerine Tango.
We scoured the web and found a few bright, rain friendly items to add a little sunshine to rainy days. Hope you enjoy! Stay dry and fabulous

Peep Toe Booties for Fall 2011 travel from the runway to City Streets

The peep toe bootie is nothing new to the closets of Fashionistas, but for fall 2011 the style was spotted on the runways in Paris, Milan and New York and has hit store shelves this month with fervor. Different styles of peep toe booties have graced store shelves over the past few years and this season shoppers can expect to find the same variety of peep toe booties for fall in solid styles, ankle styles and with cutouts.

The peep toe booties have come of age and is arguably the “IT” style of high heel for fall season. Both casual and dressy versions of the shoe style have walked onto store displays and shelves reeling in the hearts of Fashionistas. Designers such as Prada and Chanel have several different styles of peep toe booties to choose from this fall season in both classic colors and seasonal colors.

The colors that are popping up on peep toe booties this season range from autumn hues, such as burgundy, to edgy, fashion-forward shades such as blush rose; which happens to be the shoe color of the season. While more conservative styles of peep toe booties in seasonless shades of beige, black and brown are du rigueur for 2011, bold cut-out styles in autumn hues, rose blush and bright colors are also important.

The open toe bootie is of course being shown with casual attire and jeans as well as dresses with hemlines above the knee. A peep toe bootie may also be the ultimate investment piece for the season since one pair can take a Fashionistas from jeans during the day to a Diane von Furstenberg dress at night. When shopping for a fall pair of peep toe booties, keep in mind how versatile the style is and which colors would with the majority of your closet. Of course, one can never go wrong with Prada’s black version for $750. Happy shopping and stay fabulous
