Is grey the new black? Is grey the new grey? Who really knows. Every few fall seasons grey is the hot new neutral which blends with that particular season’s color palette. For fall 2014, grey is the hottest neutral hue in town. Although grey was not dominant on the runway, store buyers took a liking to the hue and stocked shelves for the upcoming cool weather season with shades of grey.
Grey for fall 2014 is being shown in everything including shoes, handbags, clothing and jewelry. There are no rules when it comes to grey. Grey can be used as a neutral and combined with another color or worn alone for a tonal look. Color blocking is also being shown in small quantities for the fall 2014 season and grey is being used in the trend.

If you like grey, it is a great color to wear on a dress, or jacket, or any staple piece of apparel. If you prefer a little more color in your wardrobe, grey is a great alternative to black. There is a new handbag trend in town; and this one takes a cue from vintage handbag styles of the 1970s. Suede, nubuck and faux-suede are popping up on handbags for fall 2014; and this trend is proving to be the hottest up-and-comer since the mini bag. While fringe, mini-satchels and backpacks all have their place in fall the 2014 handbag line-up; the suede handbag is the unexpected star of the pack. The soft, inviting fabrication offers vintage appeal while offering a fresh alternative to the basic leather, faux leather, exotic skins and canvas we have been seeing on handbags over the past decade.
Suede, and suede-like fabrications including nubuck, faux-suede and ultra-suede, offer a casual, relaxed vibe which is welcome in the world right now. As un-fussy handbags have moved to the forefront of fashion, sans logos and extra finishes, suede offers texture to a simple style while adding warmth and remaining understated.
In addition to adding depth to an understated handbag style, suede also adds an authentic vintage feel to fringe handbags; another nod to the 1970s. Designers are also using suede, and suede-like fabrics, for blocking and trim on handbags. This adds dimension and texture without always adding a contrasting color to a bag.
Since suede is casual in nature, this is a great trend to have some fun with during the fall season. Look for fall 2014 colors such as dark teal, hunter green, brown, black, grey and luxurious deep purple. These colors will work well with autumn’s overall color palette and add an instant update to your wardrobe. Love that!

One-piece swimsuits are a must for the summer months. While a bikini may look amazing on the beach, one-piece swimsuits are more practical and allow for carefree water-play. Plus, with so many amazing trends in one-piece swimwear this summer 2014 season, you may find yourself reaching for your one-piece and leaving your two-piece in the dresser drawer!
One-piece bathing suits for summer 2014 are reflecting the trends we saw on the spring/summer 2014 runways in New York. For the summer, one-piece bathing suits are being shown in retro styles, sport inspired, with cut-outs, sheer panels and in graphic prints; all hot apparel trends from the runways. Love that!
If you have found gravitating towards sheer panels, cut outs, sport inspired, graphic prints or retro styles in your apparel during the spring months, you are in luck! You can convert those spring trends in your summer swimwear wardrobe and rock them on the beach, by the pool, at the water park, kayaking, canoeing and more! Imagine all the places you need to wear a swimsuit and will look like you just walked off the catwalk in New York.Work it!
In addition to reflecting the runway trends from New York, one-piece bathing suits for summer 2014 are also showing a few distinct silhouettes this season. Instead of the classic tank suit, one-piece bathing suits are being shown with one strap, retro halter tops, low hip cut-outs, and more coverage than we have seen in recent years. Thank goodness swimwear did not pick up on the ultra high hip from the 1980’s! (Especially since sport-inspiration is a trend from the late 1980’s and early 1990’s!!!) But beware, that style has been spotted in gala attire for summer 2014 season, fingers crossed it does not hop over into swimwear for 2015. That would be one trend to stay away from. It did not look good in the 80’s, so there is no way it will look good now!
