3 emerging handbag trends to watch

givenchy antigona pale blue

There are so many handbag trends right now! Instead of one, stand-out IT bag trend, the world of handbags is having a wild, wild west moment! This means there is a style for every taste on the fashion radar; and I am here for it!

A few weeks ago I shared with you my favorite handbag trends for summer 2020, now, I want to visit three emerging handbag trends to watch, and to covet this year.

Pillow Bags

Pillow Bags are a hot new trend in handbags, and it is very inviting! Who isn’t attracted to something soft and squishy? Pillow bags are simple, classic handbags which are stuffed. You may see them in the form of extra-large quilted designs, or simple, puffy designs. While this design has been done before, it seems to be more mainstream this time around. This means puffy pillow bags are proving to be a hot emerging trend right now. If you want to hop on the train before it’s full, snap up a pillow bag you can not only store your stuff inside, but use as a pillow for a nap too.

Pastel Bags (retro ‘60’s vibes)

The 1960’s were all about pastel suits with matching pillbox hats and bags. Those bags are back! Right now, designers are introducing pastel bags in structured silhouettes to wear this summer, as well as into the fall season. You can find a pastel bag in your favorite hue; there is no wrong color. This is a great way to freshen up your look; so store your neutral or black bag. Lighten up, and go pastel!

Hobo Bags

OK, so I already mentioned hobo bags in my summer handbag trend post, but it really needs more attention. Hobo bags have been trying to happen for the past decade; and this might actually be their chance for a comeback! While my wallet gets lost inside of a hobo bag, they do offer a soft and comfortable silhouette which is easy to carry around. So if you don’t need to constantly reach for something, hobo bags could be your thing.

What do you think of these three emerging handbag trends? Will you be rocking any of them? I definitely want to invest in a pastel bag; and the pillow bags have caught my eye too. Although I am not a huge hobo bag fan, I can never say never to a bag style. Who knows, I might convert to the hobo bag side! It’s hard for me to say no to a handbag 😉

Stack on the barrettes

wearing: multiple matching barrettes c/o Beverly Beach by Dorit (under $25)  / bold gold earrings / summer lipstick / black puff sleeve top / gold chain bracelet / gold chain cuff / red and black floral skirt / summer nail polish / black clutch / black slide espadrilles /

OK raise your hand if you are addicted to Real Housewives! Yes, my hand is waaaaay up! If you are a huge fan like me, than you must have noticed Dorit Kemsley’s addiction to the multiple barrette trend. I mean, who could miss all those glittering hair clips at the reunion?! Not me!

Now, if you have been paying attention to hair trends, you may have noticed a huge trend emerging in 2018. This is when fashion insiders starting to stack on sparkling barrettes reminiscent of the 1990’s. You can see my take on the trend at fashion week in February 2019 here. When I stacked barrettes in my hair, I used my vintage barrettes which I had purchased back in ’90’s! As the trend has evolved over the past year, it has moved away from a ’90’s vibe, and taken on a life of its’ own.

The current way the multiple barrette trend is emerging, is the way Dorit has rocked it. You know you can depend on her for rocking trends which haven’t started yet! Since the reunion was filmed back in 2018, the trend has exploded, and Dorit has brought it to us in an affordable way; with a high fashion vibe. Love that!

Beverly Beach by Dorit offers a cute little card with eight matching barrettes on it. They are actually hair clips encrusted in sparkling baubles. They catch the sun, and dazzle the eyes. Love them! Now, when I tried to stack them all together the way Dorit rocks them, I didn’t really like how it looked on my fluffy hair. Maybe I need to sleek it down! Anyway, I decided to split the card and wear four on the right, and four on the left. I like how it turned out.

My barrettes and outfit around the web:

So, have you been watching the current season of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills? What are your thoughts? I’m loving Dorit and Denise; as always. Share in the comments below!

The return of the bracelet stack for summer 2020

bucket bag trend 2020

They’re baaaaa-aaaaaack!

Stacking up a ton of bracelets is back! It may just be the hottest jewelry trend this summer. So, grab all your bangles, bracelets and cuffs-and stack ’em up!

This is a really fun trend because you don’t have to choose which bracelet to wear with your outfit; you can wear them all! Hopefully you have your stackable bracelets collecting dust in your jewelry box from roughly eight years ago when everyone’s arms were having a party. If you want to freshen up your stack, the perfect bracelet to add to your stack, in order to make it truly 2020, is a chain bracelet.

Chain bracelets and chain necklaces were hotter than hot in the ’80’s and early ’90’s. This chunky, funky jewelry style is back; and it is begging to be stacked with the bracelets you already own in your collection. It’s an easy way to update your bracelet stack. Love that!

While gold-tone bracelet stacks are the ultimate metal color, you can mix and match any metal color your choose. If you prefer silver or rose gold, or you like black metals, stack ’em up! The fun thing about bracelet stacks is that they are individual. No-one else will stack like you. You may match with someone else with one bracelet, but there is a 99.9% chance your other bracelets will not match someone else. That means your bracelet stack will be unique, and very you! Love!

What do you think of the bracelet stack trend? Did you rock it last time? Will you wear it this time? I wore it last time, and I am loving it this time!
