Winter 2013 Fashion Trends: Pastel Hues

Pastel hues starting creeping back into fashion when designers in Paris showed sweet, light colors on the runway for spring/summer 2012. The pastel trend turned out to be the perfect “yin” to the bright color trends’ “yang” and has continued to enjoy popularity into the fall/winter 2012/2013 season.

Pastel colors have traditionally been a welcome color palette for the winter season after the autumn hues from the fall season begin to look too familiar. Pastels offer a fresh and colorful perk to winter ensembles; especially during bleak winter weather!

One of the fabulous things about pastels is that they will continue to be hot as we move into the spring 2013 season. Pastels will be the ultimate alternative color palette to spring/summer 2013’s uber bright shades and neon hues. This makes pastel garments and accessories a great investment to wear now and during the spring months. Love that!

For the winter season, pastels look fabulous with the holiday season’s sparkle trend. When paired with silver or gold, pastels add the perfect complimentary color to any party ensemble or daytime outfit.
Look for pastel hues in lavender, mint green, soft yellow, sky blue, peach and washed out pinks when shopping for pastels this winter 2013 season.

We found a few fabulous pastels around the web for the winter 2013 season. Hope you love them! Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Winter 2013 Trends: Baroque

One of the big fall/winter 2012/2013 runway trends is baroque. This intricate and design-heavy trend, which seemed to be a little bit much for the warm and moderate weather during the fall season,  has found itself popularity on the street for the cool, winter 2013 season as heavier fabrics and ensembles move to the forefront of every fashion-savvy womans’ closet.

Fashionistas on the street are wearing the baroque trend in subtle ways this winter 2013 season. Instead of head-to-looks from the runways, fashion-savvy women are picking one baroque item and styling an understated outfit around that item.

When wearing the baroque trend this winter 2013 season, look for one key piece you love and will be able to wear with multiple pieces in your closet. One statement coat, handbag, dress or pair of shoes is the easiest way to own a piece of the baroque trend without breaking the bank or over-buying a trend which may not return in winter 2014.

We have included a few examples in this article to help you incorporate the baroque trend into your winter 2013 wardrobe. Hope you love it! Happy shopping and stay fabulous

Jewelry trends 2013: dainty versus bold

The bold jewelry trend has been rampant in fashion both on the runway and on the street over the past several years. As we head towards 2013, the bold jewelry trend continues; but this time, in 2013 for resort, spring, summer, fall and winter, there is a secondary trend rising in jewelry; the dainty trend.

Delicate and dainty jewelry pieces have been starting to pop up both on the runways and on the streets as Fashionistas begin to tire of big and bold jewelry. This is not to say that big, bold pieces of jewelry are falling to the wayside, rather, it just means fashion-savvy women are looking for an alternative to bold jewelry pieces.

Delicate necklaces, small rings and dainty earrings are hot as we move into 2013. Smaller bracelets and thin bracelet are also hot, but in 2013 these dainty styles are still being stacked together (as they have been for the past few years) for a heavier look on the arm.
Dainty jewelry makes sense with the upcoming trends in 2013 which include neon hues, bright colors, bold prints, florals, metallics and the continuation of the color blocking trend. With bright and bold trends in apparel, shoes and handbags, it is no wonder fashion-savvy women are looking to tone down many of their jewelry choices for the upcoming year.

Of course, bold jewelry still dominated the runways for the upcoming 2013 seasons and is also proving to remain popular on the street. Solid colored frocks and simple cuts benefit from bold jewelry which can instantly update an ensemble from a past season, or add a little spice to an otherwise drab look.
Much like the 2013 shoe wars of the platform shoe versus the flat soled or “single sole” shoe, dainty and bold jewelry are moving into 2013 as equally important trends in jewelry.

It should be interesting to see as 2013 moves into 2014 if both trends remain; or if one of these trends takes over as the dominant look in jewelry.
