Dior has such pretty and vibrant colors for the summer 2018 season! The summer 2018 nail polish collection offers four bright hues; Blop, Wizz, Splash, and Pow. I purchased Blop, Splash, and Wizz for the summer season. I had trouble finding Pow in stock, and wasn’t sure I wanted to wear orange nail polish this season, so I passed. The other three colors are really pretty, and fit perfectly into the summer 2018 color palette. Love!

The nail polish hues from Dior’s summer 2018 beauty collection are part of their gel shine and long-wear collection. They are all really strong polishes. I love how chip resistant they are! This is important during the summer months when we are all active; and nail polish tends to chip more easily. These will be great polishes for the active summer since we won’t have to worry about chips! Love that!

If you aren’t familiar with Dior nail polish, the application brush makes it easy to paint your nails. It offers medium thickness and a flat silhouette, so the nail polish covers more nail with each stroke. This makes nail painting go by quickly! All of these polishes offer a high shine, and a cream polish finish which applies evenly, without streaking. So, without further ado, here are the three colors I love from the Dior summer 2018 nail polish collection!

This is Dior Blop nail polish from the summer 2018 collection. It looks like a light navy blue in these photos. That is also the color is appears to be when indoors. In outdoor light, Dior Blop takes on more of a violet hue. This polish definitely has purple undertones, which makes it a fun blue to pair with 2018’s color of the year; Ultra Violet.

I tested out Dior Blop nail polish with one base coat, and two coats of color. It offered an even application without streaking, and beautiful color saturation. Since this is a gel, it does not need a top coat; it’s really strong on it’s own!

Dior Wizz nail polish is the coral of the summer! There are very slight sparkles in this polish giving it some dimension. If you prefer classic nail polish colors, this is a fun hue for the summer which offers both fashion-forward, and classic styling. My Mom has already taken this bottle away from me. She loved the color!

I tested out Dior Wizz nail polish with one base coat and two coats of color. Again, it did not need a top coat since it’s a gel. This is a really pretty, classic hue which can be worn for many summers to come; if you don’t use up the bottle before then! haha

Well, if you have been following along for awhile, you already guessed this was my favorite color from the Dior nail polish summer 2018 collection! I love the bright, oceanic blue. It’s bright, fun, and plays well with the summer 2018 color palette. This will be the color I reach for the most often this summer season. Love it!

I tested out Dior Splash nail polish with one base coat, and two coats of color. It offered high shine, a beautiful hue, and it stole my heart. I’m looking forward to wearing this summer hue all season long!

Sunscreen recommendations summer 2018

There are over 91,000 cases of melanoma diagnosed every year, according to the American Cancer Society. This is a large amount of cases. Although melanoma is treatable by a medical professional, do you really want to end up at that point? There is nothing scarier then finding melanoma on your skin, and wondering how the biopsy will come back! Yikes!

The best way to prevent melanoma, and hopefully never find yourself waiting for biopsy results, or worse; going through chemo to treat it, is to protect yourself now! There are so many ways to prevent melanoma, it makes prevention easy!

Let’s start at the top; our heads. I have owned a San Diego Hat Company hat for fifteen years now; and I love it! Their hats offer UPF protection (the fabric version of SPF) which is a great addition to wearing sunscreen on our skin. Love it! I highly recommend one of their hats! Here are my favorites for summer 2018:

In addition to hats, it is important to wear sunglasses in order to protect your eyes. Look for lenses which block UVA/UVB rays for ultimate protection. This doesn’t prevent melanoma, but it does protect your eyes; might as well protect everything you can!

The most important way to combat melanoma, and protect your precious skin, is to wear sunscreen. I love this facial sunscreen by Lancome, this lip protection by Fresh. In addition, a setting powder with SPF is a great addition to wearing facial sunscreen; I love this one by Supergoop. With three kids running around, I have found the easiest way to protect their bodies is with a spray-on sunscreen, such as this vitamin-infused one by Supergoop.

Even if you aren’t planning on being outside, it is a good practice to wear sunscreen everyday. The sun can touch your skin walking to and from the car, it goes through car windows; and even windows in your home. Always be protected and prepared!

What’s in my beauty bag May 2018

May is here! This month we transition from spring into more of a summer weather pattern. As the temperatures begin to rise, we all need to adjust our beauty routine to stay balanced. While I am still using my favorite daytime Elemis face cream, Revive eye cream, and Revive neck cream, I am switching up my fragrance, lipstick, and evening skin care.

It’s time to make sure our legs are smooth and shaved! As the temperatures soar, I will be reaching for shorts, skirts, and dresses. This means I need smooth legs! I love EOS shave cream products, they are amazing! The sensitive formula contains cucumber, aloe, wild oats, and lavender butter. It’s great for sensitive skin!

If you have dry skin, which I end up with later in summer, this is what you need! This formula contains Shea Butter, coconut oil, and mango butter. Love that! It’s perfect for nourishing dry skin while allowing you a close shave. That is perfection.

Givenchy’s “Live Irresistible Blossom Crush” edt is a beautiful, light floral fragrance for warm weather. It offers notes of musk, pink peony, rose, and cocoa bean. It’s perfect for both spring and summer! I’m reaching for this scent now everyday.

I love to lighten up my lipstick in warm warmer. This beautiful plumping, moisturizing, and soft pink lipstick from Givenchy is my new obsession. It’s fabulous! It’s actually more of a lip balm which naturally reacts to your pH and creates a natural color which enhances your lips. Addicted!

So for my evening skin care routine, I am keeping things simple. I am still using the same neck cream from my daytime routine, but for my face cream I have started using Fresh rose deep hydration cream and toner. This is perfect for my skin since it tends to get dry in the warm weather from sun exposure. The cream brings intense 24-hour hydration for dry skin. The toner refines pores, and uses real rose petals! It’s the perfect summer floral! Love!

This is the season for camping! I’m troop leader for my daughter’s girl scout troop, plus we love to get outdoors as a family. This means I don’t always have access to a shower or bath. Yeah, don’t hate. 😉 This “Flash Bath” by Yuni is the best thing since sliced bread. No joke! It freshens you up as if you took a real shower! It’s perfect for camping, long air travel, or days when you might be running short on time and should have taken a shower; but didn’t. You need this. You seriously need this.
