Jackets for fall 2014 and winter 2015 are offering a wide range of styles. The moto jacket trend from last year is still going strong; and we are also seeing an uptick in the waterfall jacket trend which has been popular for the past few seasons. In addition to the moto jacket and waterfall jacket, traditional puffer jackets, tailored blazers and waisted windbreakers are also du rigueur for the fall 2014 and winter 2015 seasons.

One of the great things about jackets this fall/winter 2014/2015 season is that the styles are timeless. There is a good chance we all have a moto jacket in our closets as well as a blazer, puffer jacket, windbreaker or waterfall jacket. This makes finding a jacket for the fall/winter 2014/2015 season an easy and inexpensive task since most of us will be able to shop our closets! Love that!

In addition to classic moto jacket styles, this motorcycle inspired jacket style has taken on new life for the fall/winter 2014/2015 season. Moto jackets are being shown in more than leather and faux-leather styles for this cool weather season. Designers have used fabrications including tweed, wool, polyester and more to add texture and dimension to the traditional moto jacket silhouette. If black leather or faux-leather isn’t your thing ,look for a moto jacket this season in pastel pink, a bright color or neutral hue made from wool, satin, sequins and more!

If you are shopping for a waterfall jacket this fall 2014 or winter 2015 season, look for one in grey, pale pink or any shade of blue. Waterfall jackets tend to be lighter weight than other styles of jackets and they are going to continue to be a big trend in jackets as we move into resort and spring 2015. By purchasing one now in a spring color such as pale pink, grey, or blue, you will save money in the long run and get a lot of wear out of your waterfall jacket. Love that!

I love moto jackets and waterfall jackets this season. What is your favorite style of jacket for fall 2014 and winter 2015?

Fall 2014 is underway, and winter 2015 is fast approaching. One of the biggest trends in shoes for the fall/winter 2014/2015 season is menswear inspired footwear. Menswear inspired footwear includes oxfords, loafers, and even penny loafers! The majority of loafers, oxfords, and flats for the fall 2014, and winter 2015 seasons, are being shown in neutral tones with just enough height on the heel to offer extra arch support. Extra arch support = extra comfort. Love that!

Menswear inspiration has been a strong trend over the past few seasons. Despite the trends’ strength, it has not been the number one trend on the street. Consumers have been taking parts of the menswear inspired trend and incorporating it into their own personal style; rather than wearing the trend head-to-toe. One of the most popular aspects of the menswear inspired trend has been the footwear.

Menswear inspired footwear has become incredibly popular on the street for many reasons. Oxfords, flats, and loafers can easily be worn with trousers at the office, with jeans on the weekend, or paired with a skirt for a fashion-forward, funky look. In addition to being versatile, menswear inspired footwear is also comfortable. Oxfords, flats, and loafers are easy to wear all day and they are perfect for standing or walking for extended periods of time. This makes flats, loafers, and oxfords both versatile and practical. Love that! After all, how often can we say something is both on-trend and incredibly comfortable! Not very often. . .

Flats, loafers, and oxfords are also showing no sign of slowing down as we head into the resort 2015 season and the spring 2015 season. Designers are showing dark colors and neutrals on menswear inspired footwear for the fall/winter seasons. While for resort and spring, designers have opted for pastels, light hues, and perforated leather. This shows the menswear inspired trend is going strong, and will make a good investment as move into 2015.

When shopping for flats, oxfords, and loafers this fall 2014 and winter 2015 seasons, look for neutral colors which will transition easily into the new year, as well as for lug soles. Lug soles are staying strong as we move into 2015 and are also fabulous on rain slicked sidewalks or icy pathways.

I found a few amazing oxfords, flats and loafers online which are perfect for now, and into early 2015. You can find them in the shopping widget below! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

The weather is starting to cool down, which means, we get to wear our coats! Yes! I needed a new black coat this season since my old coat was starting to look worn, so I was thrilled when I found this Military style coat on sale. I love the buttons and the way the warm, thick fabric drapes around the neck when it is buttoned up. I also love the off-center buttons on the back of the coat. My apologies for not showing a photo of the back, the pictures did not turn out very clear. We took these pictures quickly before I left for San Francisco last Saturday for the Parisian Haute Couture Fashion Show. This is the outfit I wore to the show.

Military coats happen to be a big trend for the fall 2014 and winter 2015 seasons. Although we usually see this style in traditional Military Green every autumn, this year designers have extended the style into shades of brown, black, blue and more! I love the structure afforded by the Military silhouette since it offers more design than a simple lady coat, single breasted coat, robe coat or double breasted coat. There is something regal about the buttons on top of the shoulders on Military coats. Love that!

I love this coat by Guess I found on sale. It offers Military styling with a twist. The coat has an asymmetrical front with minimal buttons, yet offers a recognizable Military vibe. The coat is also comfortable, doesn’t catch lint (this is huge!), and I like how it looks! This is also the first coat I have purchased in several years, so I am a little bit giddy 🙂

What do you think of Military coats for fall 2014 and winter 2015? Is this a trend you will be wearing?
