This striped dress has turned out to be my go-to dress on hot days. I wore this dress in San Diego when we went out to dinner at Su Casa Restaurant in La Jolla. It was seriously one of the yummiest Mexican restaurants we have ever eaten at! Su Casa is family own, and you can tell they take pride in their restaurant. All of the food was delicious, and made from the freshest ingredients. We definitely want to eat there again next time we visit San Diego! You can see pictures from our meal in my San Diego family vacation guide online here.

In addition to wearing this striped dress with wedges, it can be dressed down with flat sandals or espadrilles. It is also cute on the beach with flip flops. I love a dress with versatility! In these photos I am wearing the dress in petite, but it also comes in regular sizes. If you are looking for a great dress you can wear for different occasions, which is soft and comfortable, this is the one! It also happens to be on major sale. You can find it online here. Love that!

Don’t forget! The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends in a few days. It is a great way to stock up on basics for fall, at sale prices. You can see my picks online here, or shop the sale directly online here.

Thanks for stopping by,

XOXO

August is all about transitioning from the warm summer months, into warm fall days. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area, fall can be just as warm as July and August; if not warmer! So putting together outfits which keep you cool, plus reflect the upcoming fall trends, can sometimes be a challenge. This is why I love Who What Wear’s current collection. It reflects what is hot for fall, yet is made from cool fabrics, making it perfect to wear now, and well into the autumn season. Love that!

Can we talk about this military green jacket? It is so comfortable! Plus, military green jackets are a hot fall item this season, so this jacket is ideal to wear right now and into the autumn season. The fabric is lightweight, the style is flattering, and it is so easy to wear with so many outfits. I love pairing this jacket with dresses and skirts on hot summer days. I also look forward to pairing it with jeans and pants on fall days. It will look so cute with boots and flares!

I am having so much fun wearing this hat. It is great for blocking the sun, and the brim isn’t too wide, so I can see where I am going. I adore the two tone styling of the hat. It looks so chic!

The Who What Wear capsule collection for Target has so many great options to wear now, and into early fall. I definitely want to add more pieces to my wardrobe right now! You can view all my favorite pieces from the collection below. What are your favorite pieces?

Happy National Lipstick Day 2016! In honor of lipstick everywhere, I thought it would be fun to share my favorite lipsticks of the moment, as well as one fun fact about lipstick!

Fun fact: “Egyptians like Cleopatra crushed bugs to create a colour of red on their lips.” (Source Google via Wikipedia)

Can you imagine wearing crushed bugs on your lips? I can’t. Ew! It is incredible to learn what women did for fashion in ancient times. Who knows, maybe someday future humans will look at our high heels as some sort of weird torture device. Ha! But I digress. . .

I am a huge fan of pink lipstick, and soft brown lipstick. I prefer matte, and sheer lipsticks, over cream; and I always look for a blue based shade, they help make teeth look whiter. Love that!

Fall 2016 is all about red nail  polish, and red lipstick. I am not a big red lipstick person, or red nail polish fan, so I will be skipping this trend in favor of my tried and true pink or brown lipstick hues. For the end of summer, and early fall, the lipsticks pictured above will be my go-to shades.

I definitely reach for Dolce & Gabbana Dolce Rosa the most, with Chanel Melancholie being my next go-to lipstick. Chanel Mighty, and Energy, were my go-to lipsticks earlier in the spring season, but they have both gone missing! I suspect my daughter has snatched them up; she is famous for stealing my nail polishes. I need to watch her more closely. .

Last week, I bought MAC Fabby, and Charlotte Tilbury Kidman’s Kiss for transitioning into the fall season. Watch for upcoming reviews of these two lipsticks. I’m really excited about these two colors, and the formulas are fabulous!

What are your favorite lipsticks? Happy National Lipstick Day 2016!
