Bikinis for summer 2014

One of the most daunting things to shop for, outside of jeans, is a swimsuit! Although less forgiving, I find bikinis and tankinis a little easier to shop for than one piece bathing suits. At least they don’t smash down assets which should not be smashed down; if you know what I mean 😉

There are so many beautiful bikini’s on the market right now for summer 2014. Since there are so many choices on the market, I have narrowed it down to a few fabulous bikinis for summer 2014 which reflect the trends we spotted on the spring/summer 2014 runways in New York.

Some of the trends from the New York runways for spring/summer 2014 included prints, boho chic, stripes, bold colors, pastels and chic black. For swimwear, we are seeing a lot of prints, boho chic, black and solid colors which are bright and bold.

I sorted through many bikinis to find the perfect swimwear for summer 2014 which reflect the hottest runway trends of the season. I hope you love them too!

What are your favorite swimwear trends for summer 2014? Do you prefer bikinis, tankinis or one piece bathing suits?

Santana Row Poolside Soiree 2014

Santana Row’s annual Poolside Soiree took place June 7, 2014 and gave Fashionistas in the Bay Area and beyond a snapshot into what is hot for summer 2014. There was a large amount of flowing fabrics, hi-lo hemlines, boot-cut jeans/pants, softer hues than in season’s past, boho prints, boho silhouettes, pops of orange, pops of fuchsia, and form-fitting suiting for men. The overall vibe of the show was playful and fun; essentially what summer in the Bay Area is all about!

Below you will find photos from the runway show, celebrity host 49er Vernon Davis, before party, and after parties. Click on any photo to enlarge it.

If you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area, make sure you come down to Santana Row in San Jose for a day of fabulous meals and even more fabulous shopping! I already have my eyes on several of these ensembles for summer. . .

Kicking off summer vacation

I wore this outfit to my son’s graduation from Kindergarten. Not only was it adorable to see my son wear a graduation cap, it was amazing to see how proud he was to graduate! He is really excited about entering first grade next year and I am excited to have all three of my kids on the same schedule!

Don’t get me wrong, as “freeing” as it is to have the kids in school, the school year can be hectic and downright stressful! In addition to driving the kids to and from school, once I pick them up after school I become a taxi driver; taking them from activity to activity. I am fortunate to be able to work from home and be there to drive them around after school. Although, I have to admit, summer vacation is just as fun and relaxing for me as it is for my kids!

I am thankful to have this fabulous drawstring  bucket bag from Jill Milan’s fall 2014 collection. It is perfect to wear now and into fall; not just because of the neutral metallic hue, but because it is so practical! This bag fits everything I need for work and taking my kids from activity to activity. I can fit a few iPad’s inside, plus a novel, snacks, water bottle and everyday purse essentials. Practical + fabulously fashionable = love!

I am so thrilled about the bucket bag trend right now. Drawstring bucket bags are perfect for everyday life and they are not as heavy and bulky as totes. I am looking forward to wearing my Jill Milan bucket bag for a very long time 🙂
