Classic, duffle-style satchels are hot this year, and chances are, you have one hiding in the back of your closet! Whether you call it a satchel, a small duffle bag, a small weekender, or a doctor bag, this roomy handbag is a great everyday choice for carrying around everything you might need in a day. Love that!

Designers and brands such as Coach, Kate Spade, Tory Burch, Khaite, and more, showed these roomy satchels on their runways for the spring 2024 season. You can choose a structured style such as the Givenchy Antigona, or a softer style from Khaite. The type of fabrication you choose will be both classic and timely for the spring season; just don’t pick the logo fabric, that’s not really “in” right now.

The good thing about this so-called trend, is that it is also a timeless handbag style which you can feel good about investing in for the spring season and beyond. While there are plenty of trendy colors, especially pastels, available for spring 2024, if you are looking for longevity, I would recommend a neutral hue or black. This handbag style will take you well past the spring season and become a staple in your wardrobe for many years. I have had my Givenchy Antigona for close to a decade and I still reach for it often.

Designer or Deal casual tote

affordable version the row margaux

Designer or deal casual tote: designer tote / affordable tote (under $1000) /

This beautiful, soft tote bag from The Row is hotter than hot right now. The catch? It is really expensive! If you don’t mind the price, go for it. The Row Margaux is a beautiful, investment handbag which can be worn for a lifetime. But, if the price is a bit of a shock, there is a similar version in suede which is priced under $1000. Love that!

While the suede version looks floppier in the photos, keep in mind the handbag from The Row is soft leather which gets floppy after being worn for awhile, so they are more apples to apples than the photos suggest.

Which one do you prefer? Designer or deal?

Handbag Spotlight: The Row Margaux

Handbag Spotlight: The Row Margaux /

If you are on social media, I am sure you have already spotted this beautiful, slouchy tote bag by The Row. The Margaux is a double handle tote, or satchel, which is made from the finest, slouchy leather and offers a soft, high-quality vibe. Love!

The Row Margaux is available in various sizes indicated by a number after the handbag name. 10 being the smallest, 15 is medium, and 17 is a large, travel tote size.

As much as I adore this beautiful investment bag, I cannot personally justify the price. If you can swing the price, invest in this bag! The Row Margaux is a fabulous investment purchase which will last a lifetime. The classic, double handle tote design combined with slouchy leather offers a timeless vibe and craftsmanship which will last through your retirement.

This handbag can be used as a work tote, a travel tote, or a tote for carrying a ton of stuff. haha If you have a lifestyle which requires the use of a spacious bag, this is the bag.

In addition to being a fabulous, timeless handbag, it is currently trending as the hottest IT bag of the moment. But, like the Givenchy Antigona, we hope to see The Row Margaux become a classic long after the hype fizzles out. While these transitions from IT status to timeless status are never for sure, there is a good chance The Row Margaux will make a smooth transition into the forever bag category.

What do you think of The Row Margaux? Is this beautiful handbag on your wish list? It is currently on my dream list. haha
