Frosted lipstick is back! Remember in the late 1980s and early 1990s reaching for blue eyeliner and pink frosted lipstick? A can of hairspray nearby? Large hoop earrings and crop tops? Oh yeah, that look is back, minus the hairspray; and the crop tops aren’t boxy, they are form fitting. Oh, and that’s how teenagers dress, not us; except for the make-up. So, let’s talk frosted lipstick!

Frosted lipstick cycles in and out of fashion, which is fine, because we don’t invest in lipstick expecting it to last years. I mean, ew.

The look of frosted lips is iconic when tied to 1960s style and late 1980s/early 1990s style. It even had a mild resurgence in the early 2000s. Now, in 2024, it is back and the trend is strong.

Unlike the 1990s, you are not relegated to one color of frosted lipstick. Your hue doesn’t need to be pink, just a frosted color which works for you and your wardrobe, as well as your coloring. Love that!

We learned in the early 2000s that MAC cornered the market on the perfect frosted lipstick. I stand by that discovery from twenty years ago. The best way to rock the frosted lipstick trend is with a color from the MAC Frost Lipstick collection. I found three hues I love, and I will be wearing these this summer into fall.

MAC Frost Lipstick goes on smoothly and gives you just the perfect frosty coverage. Fabby reminds me of the late 1980s and early 1990s while Plum Daddy is a great hue for evenings, as well as moving into the fall season. Angel is a great alternative and perfect for daytime during the summer. Love these hues!

Coach Swing Zip review

How cute is the Coach Swing Zip! This small satchel is a reissue of an almost identical version Coach released in the early 2000’s. Do you know what this means? Glove tanned leather! Yes! Of course, it is not the same as the leather from the 1990s, but still, the glove tanned leather from Coach is still nice.

There is currently an east/west satchel trend on the streets right now, so the Coach Swing Zip fits right into that trend making it both classic and trendy, love that! The Swing Zip by Coach offers a zipper closure, an interior zipper pocket, and an interior slip pocket. The two shoulder straps are adjustable, but I don’t see why anyone would adjust them. The straps are perfect for wearing the bag as a shoulder bag.

The Coach Swing Zip is room enough for daily essentials, but it is still on the small side. I can fit my wallet, lipstick, phone, keys, Kleenex, and glasses case inside.

There is still a small amount of room after I fill the bag with my essentials, but not much. I would say it is a step up, interior space-wise, from the Coach Swinger.

Hermes nail polish. I had to try it! The collection had been tempting me for quite some time, but when I spotted these bright and cheery hues for the spring summer 2024 season, I realized it was time to take the plunge; so, I bought all three spring/summer colors!

At first glance, I assumed Hermes Bleu Electrique nail polish would be my favorite, and while it’s a fabulous shade of blue, I am torn between Orange Tonique and Ultraviolet! I never in million years thought I would gravitate towards an orange nail polish. I usually shy away from orange hues, but there is a slightly soft, blue undertone in Hermes Orange Tonique which draws me in, I love it! Who am I???? haha

This really is a beautiful orange. So, if you are like me and tend to skip over the orange nail polish hues, stop and take a look at this one, it might just blow you away! Then, there is Hermes Ultraviolet nail polish. It is beautiful! I am definitely going to have trouble deciding which color to paint my nails next! I am currently wearing Hermes Leu Electrique nail polish as I type this.

This was my first time using Hermes nail polish, and as someone who judges brushes and application, I have a little something to say. First off, I love the brush design. Hermes nail polish applied smoothly without streaking and making a mess on my surrounding skin. It was easy to apply two coats of color over my base coat. Now, here is where things change . . .

Hermes Orange Tonique nail polish and Hermes Ultraviolet nail polish both applied evenly. All three nail polish colors are cream polishes and I tested them with one base coat and two coats of colors. With Hermes Bleu Electrique, the application wasn’t as smooth as the other two hues. I had trouble getting even coverage with Bleu Electrique. It wasn’t streaky, just not as saturated as the other two. I feel like Hermes Bleu Electrique needs three coats to look perfect. This isn’t a big deal, but it is an extra step when you are accustomed to two coats of color. So, all in all, Hermes Bleu Electrique nail polish is fabulous, it just needs three coats instead of two.

All three Hermes nail polish colors are fabulous. Since they are from a combo season, spring and summer together, these nail polish colors will have longevity throughout the warm weather months. In fact, Hermes Orange Tonique nail polish can easily take you into the early fall season. I really love these colors! They are bright, happy, and add the right pop to any spring/summer look. Love that!
