Ah, the 70’s trend! I am in love with this trend. One of the fabulous aspects of the 70s trend, is the a-line midi skirts; especial the suede skirts.

I love how a-line midi skirts look. The a-line silhouette is always flattering; and the midi skirt is modest enough to always be appropriate. Love that!

One of my favorite 70s style skirts is the suede skirt. This rich brown, suede skirt I am wearing has a front pleat, a-line silhouette, and soft suede fabrication. I am in love!

The rich brown hue, coupled with the vintage 70s silhouette, is making this one of my favorite skirts for the upcoming fall 2015 season! Although suede can be a warm fabrication, I did manage to wear this skirt for morning mass last weekend. Of course, once the fog burned off, I had to change.

Suede skirts instantly transport me back to the 1970s. I was a little girl, so my memory is fuzzy, but I do remember my Mom’s clothing. This could be due to the fact that I thought her closet was my dress-up playground; much to her chagrin.

I remember my Mom wearing a brown suede skirt with buttons running down the front in the late 1970s. She wore it with her silk, patchwork blouse, as well as other silk blouses. She has always loved silk blouses, and can be found wearing them often to this day.

I always thought this suede skirt of hers was so soft and luxurious. I thought she looked beautiful in it! As a result, I have been waiting for midi suede skirts to come back in fashion so that I too, can wear a midi brown suede skirt!

Does the current 70s trend conger up any childhood memories for you too?

Flare jeans and platforms

I am in love with the 1970’s trend of the moment. Everything about the trend, from boho-chic to flare jeans to uber-casual handbags; the trend just fits my personal style. Love that!

Although platforms were in style several years ago, and then out of style the past two years; I am thrilled they are back in style for fall 2015. Standing at 5’4″, I love any type of shoe which offers both height, and comfort. There is something about platforms which I find to be more comfortable than classic flat soled shoes. The platform offers a softer base for the ball of the foot than a thin soled shoe offers when standing on hard ground, or the street. I find platforms are easier to stand in for long periods of time than flat soled shoes for that very reason. This makes them perfect for parties; or any occasion where one has to stand! Of course, walking in platforms can be challenging.

I have found Prada makes the ideal platform. Their platforms are always walkable, comfortable, soft, and on-trend. The Prada plarforms I am wearing in the pictures above are from Prada’s fall 2009 runway. They are still in great condition despite being worn to death by me over the years. I feel like they are worth every penny, and if I purchase another pair of platforms this season, I will seriously look at Prada’s collection. Feet are our base, they should be kept happy  😉

I am looking forward to wearing my platforms again this season! Which trends from the 1970’s look for fall 2015 are you excited about?

The weather has finally started to feel like fall! This past week, temperatures have finally dipped into the 60’s and 50’s, offering crisp fresh air and the opportunity to wear warm clothing. Love that!

Since we are experiencing a drought here in the San Francisco Bay Area, we have had an unusually warm year. We started to get spring-like weather as early as January! So, when the cooler temperatures started to hit last week, it felt refreshing; and a relief!

This warm pink moto jacket by Rebecca Minkoff is ideal for the current temperatures. It not only keeps me warm, it is both edgy and girly at the same time. Love that! I also love how it looks with this Coach shoulder bag; which is how I am wearing the painted handbag trend this season.

How is your weather pattern? Have you had the opportunity to wear your fall clothing yet?
