Ah, the 70’s trend! I am in love with this trend. One of the fabulous aspects of the 70s trend, is the a-line midi skirts; especial the suede skirts.

I love how a-line midi skirts look. The a-line silhouette is always flattering; and the midi skirt is modest enough to always be appropriate. Love that!

One of my favorite 70s style skirts is the suede skirt. This rich brown, suede skirt I am wearing has a front pleat, a-line silhouette, and soft suede fabrication. I am in love!

The rich brown hue, coupled with the vintage 70s silhouette, is making this one of my favorite skirts for the upcoming fall 2015 season! Although suede can be a warm fabrication, I did manage to wear this skirt for morning mass last weekend. Of course, once the fog burned off, I had to change.

Suede skirts instantly transport me back to the 1970s. I was a little girl, so my memory is fuzzy, but I do remember my Mom’s clothing. This could be due to the fact that I thought her closet was my dress-up playground; much to her chagrin.

I remember my Mom wearing a brown suede skirt with buttons running down the front in the late 1970s. She wore it with her silk, patchwork blouse, as well as other silk blouses. She has always loved silk blouses, and can be found wearing them often to this day.

I always thought this suede skirt of hers was so soft and luxurious. I thought she looked beautiful in it! As a result, I have been waiting for midi suede skirts to come back in fashion so that I too, can wear a midi brown suede skirt!

Does the current 70s trend conger up any childhood memories for you too?

Patchwork jeans for fall

I absolutely adore the patchwork denim trend for fall. When I spotted these skinnies by Current Elliott, I knew they were the perfect patchwork jeans for me.

These patchwork jeans by Current Elliott fit like a glove. They are, comfortable, and a great alternative to regular blue jeans. Love that!

Since they have such a cool, patchwork design, and I wanted my new red, Mansur Gavriel to stand out, I decided to keep the outfit simple with a classic white shirt. I feel like this outfit is classic and crisp; with a twist. The patchwork, of course, are that twist!

These jeans will be great when the weather cools off for fall; and I can wear them more! Right now, I can only wear them until the fog burns off, then it’s back to short. Ugh, boring shorts.

The patchwork trend for fall is so much fun! I would love to add a dress, and a sweater, to my wardrobe for fall with a patchy look. Of course, I would only wear one patchwork item at a time 😉

Are you planning on indulging in the patchwork trend this upcoming fall season? If so, how do you plan to wear it?

Burgundy laser cut midi skirt for fall 2015

This skirt! When I received my fall 2015 JCrew catalog a few weeks ago in the mail, I almost fell off my chair when I spotted this midi skirt in the pages of the glossy. The laser cut overlay, and the beautiful burgundy hue, spoke to me.

Rarely does clothing speak to me; especially in the form of “you need me now!” Normally I see something I like, I ponder it, I try to match it with other things in my closet, then I make my decision. With this midi skirt, I did not have to think, I just knew it was “the one.”

JCrew offers the skirt in burgundy, navy, and black. These are all fabulous colors, but I felt the burgundy/wine hue was really exceptional. This color sets off the laser cut-outs, making the midi skirt incredibly interesting. Love that!

When I received this laser cut midi skirt in the mail, it was even prettier than I imagined. In person, the cut-outs, and the color, are exceptional. I know I will be wearing this midi skirt all season long!

My beautiful nine-year-old daughter snapped these pictures before church last Sunday. It was the first time I wore the skirt, and I was thrilled! My two daughters love it too! 🙂

I paired this laser cut midi skirt with a simple white top from my closet. I cannot wait to start pairing it with thicker fabrics, knitwear, and even sweaters! Bring on the cold weather!

I also need to give a shout-out to the fabulous pair of earrings, and beautiful necklace by Kendra Scott I am wearing in these photos. I received them last week at the RewardStyle Master Class in San Francisco. Kendra Scott’s team was there showing the fall collection, and how the Color Bar works.

As a huge fan of Kendra Scott’s gems, I was thrilled to receive these two items. The earrings are fabulous. They can be worn with, or without, the earring jacket. Two in one =  fabulous! ( and a money saver ;-))

This necklace is also a perfect closet staple. It matches everything, of course, and transcends trends. I love timeless pieces; and would love to own it in every color!

Have you found a key piece this fall which speaks to you?
