Yellow is a huge color for the spring 2018 season. It is a color I love, yet don’t own very much of. So, after wearing yellow nail polish for a few weeks, I decided to invest in a yellow top for the spring season. Why not add some sunshine to my wardrobe!

I love how this top looks with black jeans and shoes. Since this top is yellow and black striped, I think the black jeans and shoes give it a simple, casual look. Of course, my husband told me I look like a bumble bee. Um. . .not cool. I might have to sting him for saying that! haha

My cute little nine-year-old son took these photos. Although some of them are a little blurry, I think he did a pretty good job!

I love love love this spring sweater I wore at fashion week with my menswear suit! It is really comfortable, and I love the style. So, when we were in Tahoe last week, I wanted to wear it; despite that fact that it was snowing pretty hard outside!

In order to style this spring sweater for snow weather, I layered it over a turtleneck in a contrasting color. Since there is a cold shoulder on the sweater, I thought the peek-a-boo color would be fun. It was perfect for the weather, and with the addition of a jacket, worked well for being outside in the snow.

This sweater will be fun to wear this spring season, and on cool summer evenings when the fog comes in. Do you try to wear spring clothing when it’s still winter outside? What are your tips and tricks?

Walking in a winter wonderland

We recently spent ski week in the Lake Tahoe area, and it snowed! My kids have been in the snow plenty of times, but they had never seen snow actually fall out of the sky! It was so magical for them to go outside and play, while snow-flakes fell out of the sky, and towards the ground. They had a blast trying to catch snow on their tongues, and in their hands. I’m not sure how we have been to Tahoe so many times, yet the kids haven’t seen snow fall out of the sky! I guess the snow was already there when we drove up, and/or it fell out of the sky overnight!

I cook most of our meals in the house when we stay in Truckee, but we do eat out once or twice during our stay. This coat from JD Williams, which is incredibly affordable, was perfect for our dinner out. I love showing off a coat by pairing it with an all-black outfit. It is so easy to show off a coat or jacket by wearing all black. This is also an easy way to turn closet staples into a fabulous outfit with the addition of outerwear. Love that!

This coat was part of my New York Fashion Week day two outfit, but I didn’t wear it the whole day because it turned out to not be cold enough! I’m so happy to have it, and to be able to wear it at home, or in Tahoe!
