First off, my apologies for the slightly blurry photos in this post. My adorable nine-year-old son really wanted to take my pictures and see them on the Internet, so I let him be my photographer for the day. He tried really hard, and did a good job considering he is new to using a DSLR camera!
This casual fall outfit for the early fall season is already turning into my favorite look. Although it is not fall yet, I have been sneaking in my fall wardrobe during the morning hours when the fog is in, or has just burned off. I can handle wearing heavier clothing until about 11am, and then I need to switch back to my summer wardrobe. I can tell this thin sweater will be a go-to item once the temperatures cool down around October.
The sweater is really comfortable, but it does hit right at my belt-line. To correct this, I wear a black tank top underneath the thin sweater in order to make sure my belly is not exposed. No-one wants to see that! haha
The sleeves on this sweater really elevate it from a basic fall knit to something special. I love the belt details on the arms which have a slight bell silhouette. My kids get a kick out of it! They think the sleeves are “really fun!”
I wore this outfit out to an early lunch the other day with my kids. I took them to Straits at Santana Row, and we enjoyed a yummy lunch; and ordered too much food. Can I just tell you, we had leftovers for days!!
These fall 2017 slides were comfortable for walking around, and I love that I can wear them in any weather. At least I can rock a fall trend all day, any day, during the rest of summer and into fall with these mules!
Which fall 2017 trends are you in love with, and are rocking right now?
I love a tiered sleeve top for fall 2017 I can wear now! This fun top with tiered sleeves for fall is lightweight and breezy, making it easy to wear on cool, summer days, when the fog is in; or temperatures remain in the seventies.
The tiered sleeve trend picked up pace during the spring/summer season, and is maintaining popularity as move into the fall 2017 season. The runways for fall 2017 showed both bell sleeves, and tiered sleeves, for the cool weather season. This means the tiered sleeve trend is here to stay; at least for the fall/winter season. We will find out in September what is in store for spring 2018!
This top with tiered sleeves for fall 2017 is a great way to rock the tiered sleeve trend this autumn season. The fabric is lightweight, and the overall silhouette of the blouse is conservative enough to be worn on a daily basis. It also comes in a classic, crisp white fabric. White is fabulous for fall, because white after Labor Day is all the rage! Love!
A top with tiered sleeves can be worn several different ways for the fall season. Of course the obvious is with jeans, but it also looks fabulous with wide leg, cropped pants, a pencil skirt, or skinny cigarette pants. I love how tiered sleeve tops look with slides or booties for fall; a trendier footwear style balances out the slightly avant-garde look of the tiered sleeves.
My tiered sleeve top is currently part of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, and the price will go up to retail on August 6, 2017. So if you like my top, now is the time to snag one! Otherwise, I found a few fabulous tops with tiered sleeves for the fall season, that you can wear now, and assembled them into scrolling widget below.

If you are like me, you want to wear the newest fashion trends from the runways as soon as they become available. Unfortunately, many fall 2017 trends are too warm to wear in this eighty degree summer heat. That is where pre-fall comes in. It is the ultimate way to wear the new fall trends during the summer months. Pre-fall styles help us stay ahead of the fashion curve, while remaining comfortable in the current season. Clean denim: No more tears and distressing for fall! If you already own a ton of jeans with distressed knees and the like, it is OK. You can continue to wear them, just don’t buy them! Torn denim is changing it’s tune for fall 2017. Look for complete knees and rear’s; only look for distressed hemlines, that is where distressing is at for fall 2017.
Slides and mules: Oh this beloved trend from spring is too hot to touch for fall! Slides and mules are all the rage this fall 2017 season; and you can wear them now! Since slides and mules have an open back, they allow air flow, which means you can wear them in the hot summer weather. They can be worn now and well into the fall season. Only rain or snow will make you store your slides for better weather! If you don’t already own a clean and classic black pair, now is the time to invest in a pair. If you already own black slides, look for on trend metallic or embroidered mules to round out your fall collection. You will look fabulous!
