Bell sleeves for fall are a huge trend. It seems like every dress, tunic, and top has some sort of bell sleeve! I have to admit, this is a fun trend! I love this mixed print tunic with bell sleeves. It adds a little bit of flair to an otherwise casual top.

I wore this casual outfit over the weekend after my son’s football championship game. At his request, we took our family out to dinner at Aldo’s in Los Gatos. This is my son’s favorite restaurant in the whole wide world! He loves the lasagna, and chocolate fondant cake. There are several choices on the menu which I love too; I have found you can never go wrong at Aldo’s! If you are local to the San Francisco Bay Area, please stop in and enjoy a meal; you will love it!

Our weather in the Bay Area the past couple of weeks has been on the mild side. With temperatures hovering in the 70’s, this long sleeve tunic and jeans was the perfect outfit to keep warm and comfortable. These booties are also really soft and comfortable; super easy to walk in! Love that!

I hope you had a fun weekend, thank you for stopping by!

Western ruffles

Wearing: bold shell earrings / Chanel sunglasses / MAC Lipstick / Topshop blouse (sold out, also love this one, and this one-not similar but SO CUTE!) / bold lapis ring / Chanel Gris Obscur nail polish / Gap jeans (old, similar pair here) / black Proenza Schouler satchel / guitar strap for handbags / burgundy suede loafer pumps (under $150!!)

Have you ever been drawn to an article of clothing because it reminded you of something? This ruffle shirt reminded me of two things; my childhood obsession with western clothing, and a television show named “Little House on the Prairie.”

The ruffles on the blouse reminded me of the costuming from the show, and they also reminded me of the ruffle shirts I wore when I was around seven and eight years old. I used to put outfits together with brown cowboy boots, a cowgirl hat, corduroy skirts, and ruffle shirts! My western themed phase lasted until I was on a boat with family friends one day sailing around the bay and that cute little western cowgirl hat of mine blew right off my head into the bay! Cue massive amounts of tears . . . I get a little sad just thinking about it.

This ruffle blouse definitely takes me back in time to my childhood, and it has turned out to be a great piece to wear right now! I love pairing it with jeans, a-line midi-skirts, and denim skirts. The fabric is on the thick side, so it is definitely better suited for temperatures below seventy degrees. I know I will get more use out of it as we head towards winter here in the Bay Area.

Unfortunately this ruffle shirt sold out quickly. If you are looking for a great shirt this fall season which can easily be worn casually, check out this striped blouse, and this understated ruffle shirt. You can see an outfit post of the second choice here.

Do you have any pieces which bring back memories?

Fall horizontal stripes

Wearing: gold sculptured earrings / Chanel sunglasses / MAC lipstick / striped fall blouse / dark wash flare jeans / sculptured gold ring / Chanel Gris Obscur nail polish / JW Anderson Pierce bag / black boots (old, love this pair under $200)

Horizontal stripes have always been a pattern I have been drawn to, so when they appeared as a strong trend for the spring 2017 season, (see spring 2017 trends from the runway online here), I was really excited! This short sleeve blouse with horizontal stripes for the fall 2016 season, instantly caught my eye; not because it is a spring trend, but because I loved the stripes pattern and silhouette!

Our weather during the fall season in the San Francisco Bay Area is mild. Temperatures swing between eighty degrees and sixty degrees, so a short sleeve top with jeans on casual days is perfect. If the fog rolls in, simply top the look with a lightweight jacket, and you are ready to take on the fall weather! Love that!

I love how this top has a swing silhouette which is reminiscent of the 1960s, and a colorful pattern with a 1980s vibe. This season is all about transitioning from a strong 1970s vibe, to a mixture of 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s influence; so this mix is a great way to go from fall 2016 into the new year. In the spring season, the 1980s will rise to become a more important influence then the 1970s on fashion and style. Start thinking ahead when you shop for next year!

When the spring season hits, I am looking forward to wearing different type of horizontal stripes. What is your take on the emerging trend?
