fall 2013

Cobalt blue for fall 2013 and resort 2014

Cobalt blue is a well-loved color. This bright shade of blue appears in seasonal collections almost every spring, summer and resort. We occasionally see designers use pops of cobalt for fall and winter, but it is not as common as in warm weather seasons.

For fall 2013 cobalt blue is hot. It is almost as hot as purple, and fall’s most important color, red. Cobalt is bright and is turning out to be the most cheerful color of the season. Love this!

Not only is cobalt blue important for fall 2013, the hue dominated the resort 2014 runways throughout the globe. This means cobalt blue is the perfect color to invest in right now. As summer sales are starting to hit final markdown, look for pieces in cobalt blue. You will be able to wear them now and well into 2014. After all, resort is a snapshot into spring, and if cobalt is hot for resort, it may very well have a strong place in the spring/summer 2014 collections.

Look for cobalt blue on everything from apparel to accessories. This hue is even popping up in beauty products. Nail polish, eye liner, eye shadow and mascara in cobalt blue are hot right now and can be toned down to carry your blue beauty look into fall. Watch for the hue to pop up again in beauty for resort 2014!

I found a few fabulous cobalt blue pieces around the web and assembled them into the shopping widget below. They are perfect to wear now, in the fall, and into 2014! Hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous

I am a huge fan of anything born in the Bay Area. But in the case of San Jose based designer Marissa Del Rosario, she could be based anywhere in the universe and I would still be a huge fan. This fabulous Bay Area designer has created an amazing line of accessories which are chic and timeless. Love that!

I was thrilled when Marissa Del Rosario sent me the beautiful bracelet featured in these photos. The strong, edgy chain combined with the classic leopard print details caught my eye immediately and I knew this bracelet would be in my wardrobe forever. The bracelet is extremely high quality, and knowing it was designed by a local designer makes me crave even more pieces from Marissa Del Rosario’s line. I cannot wait to wear this bracelet with more outfits in the months to come!

Please take some time to check out her website at MarissaDelRosario.com and view her collection. I am currently coveting her belts; and more of her bracelets! What is your favorite piece from the line?

Transitioning with Eclection

DSC08581 DSC086301 DSC0865 DSC0866 DSC0859

There is something about the month of August which always makes me want to ditch my summer wardrobe and move right into fall. Unfortunately, this is a little difficult to do in the San Francisco Bay Area. After all, our summer weather continues into late October; and sometimes early November! To solve this wardrobe dilemma, I look for color combinations which evoke an autumn feel yet can still pass for “normal” in August.

I was really excited when I first saw the new “Eclection” collection from Twisted Silver for late summer. The necklace and earrings offer the current trend towards smaller jewelry for fall 2013 in a transitional color palette! It is like Twisted Silver read my mind! Love them!

The beautiful “Eclection” collection from Twisted Silver features an eclectic combination of vintage crystal, glass pearls and brass. The colors on the “Eclection” collection include pale blue, pale amber, pearl and a pop of fall 2013’s hottest hue; red! Love that!

Twisted Silver’s new “Eclection” collection completes my transitional look from summer into fall through both colors and scale. I cannot wait to wear this collection through fall!
