Asia Fashion Collection, which is a global incubation project, showed the fall/winter 2014/2015 collections from their designers at New York Fashion Week on Saturday, February 8, 2014. The designers showed a vast array of artistic collections which offered a mixture of commercial appeal, avant-garde looks and a fusion of both.

Three of the designers were from Vantan Tokyo and three were hand selected by PARCO. The emerging designers who showed their fall/winter 2014/2015 collection during Asia Fashion Collection’s show at New York Fashion Week included:

VIANAD ViVi joanne Anais dorsbien by Suzuki Mark (Vantan Design Institute)
ViVijoanne and Anais.  Elegant and sweet fictional sisters are based on an imaginary scene from a romance movie.  The feeling of dreaming a story translates to the feeling of wearing a story; a brand in which garments transform women dramatically.

AUSTIN. W by Tzu-Yun Wu (Taiwan)
Calm, cool, and neutral tones with a touch of futuristic gray marks the image of this brand. I create infinite possibilities through digital prints that appear every season, combining sophisticated silhouettes with simplicity.

HANG by Mim Mak (Hong Kong)
Founded in 2012, Hang presents a collection of stark blacks and winter whites focused on shapes.  Raw edges and sheen are paired with graceful hemlines that articulate movement.

Designs reminiscent of dancing under the moonlight.  Luxury clothes in leathers, wools and silks, shine in the dark. Rock is the root of the brand that emulates hard elegance.

R-SHEMISTE by Won Ji Yeun (Korea)
Modern, innovative combinations of fabric and textile, accentuate the unique quality of materials.

SEi by Sei Yumiko (Vantan Design Institute)
Haute couture knitwear.  “Fascinate the you in yourself. I will give you the one and only seam – the seam that links you to yourself.”  Remember more; imagine more. If you have what it takes to throw it all away, dare to be wilder.

One of my personal weaknesses is my love for jewelry. I am drawn to handmade jewelry by artistic designers. One of the things I look for in my jewelry is a sense of freedom and playfulness. I also demand quality; and love to wear something which is unique. When I met Teece Torre through Twitter, I fell in love. All of the designs are handmade with semi-precious stones and the bracelets are made to order in your wrist size! Love that!

Being that purple is one of my favorite colors, I was instantly to drawn to several purple hued bracelets on Teece Torre’s website; including this one, and this one. I settled on the beautiful La Notte bracelet which features iolite, citrine and aquamarine. I loved the richness of the gemstones set against the gold clasp and beads. The bracelet has an amazing color which appears very purple when set against other purple shades, black, brown or red. When against shades of blue, green or yellow, the bracelet takes on a bluish-purple hue which makes you squint to try and determine if you are looking at purple or blue! I love that!

All of Teece Torre’s pieces are handmade by the designer in her New York home. In addition to beautiful bracelets, Teece Torre also has fabulous earrings and the most amazing necklaces! I have my eyes on this one and this one. To learn more about Teece Torre, and to shop the collection, (great holiday gifts by the way!), please visit TeeceTorre.com.
