This is the time of year when it is just plain cold! In addition to being cold, the trees are bare, and the sky is dreary. What we all dream about is a sunny vacation, in eighty degree weather, at a fabulous resort. Unfortunately, not all of us can break away from our kids activities, or work, at this time of year and go sleep on a beach. <sigh>

Thankfully, we can bring the look of the resort to our wardrobe! Love! If you haven’t noticed, Tart Collections has released their fabulous resort 2018 collection, and it can instantly transport you to the resort of your dreams! The collection is filled with beautiful prints, and designs, which are perfect for an exotic beach getaway.  Of course, we have a trick for taking those resort designs to city streets when we can’t actually be on a beach!

This beautiful dress for the resort 2018 season by Tart Collections instantly caught my eye. It has a flirty tie back, and empire waist; making it ideal as a swimsuit cover-up, or beach-side dress, for an exotic getaway. Since I can’t get myself to a beach getaway at the moment, I brought the look to my local city street.

You can wear resort-wear in the winter! I paired my resort 2018 dress from Tart Collections with my classic go-to denim jacket, and city-street-worthy wedge espadrilles. The espadrille portion of the shoe matches the vibe of the dress, while the wedge adds instant street cred. To complete the look, I paired the dress with this vacation-ready bamboo circle bag. It adds the perfect vacation vibe to the overall look!

Since it was forty-seven degrees out when I wore this dress over the week-end, I had to keep my jacket on. I cannot wait for our spring weather to start in the middle of February; this jacket will come off, and this dress will be perfect alone! Now. . .about that beach resort getaway I am currently dreaming of. . . <sigh> At least I have a dress which gives off a beach resort vibe!

You can grab your own piece of a beach resort online at TartCollections.com. You can also save 20% off your resort-ready look with coupon code BAFASHIONISTA20 now through 2/23/2018. Their fabulous resort collection will transition seamlessly into spring 2018. Love that!

Did I mention Tart Collections is based right here in the San Francisco Bay Area? Love!!!

Asymmetrical lines at New York Fashion Week

wearing: silver oval earrings / Chanel lipstick / black draping asymmetrical dress (under $200!!) / bold silver cuff (on major sale!!) / Chanel fall nail polish / Givenchy bag / black and silver watch / silver booties (so comfortable!)

One of the biggest questions I have to answer every season when I go to fashion week is, ‘what do I wear at New York Fashion Week?’ There are several different directions one could go when choosing a New York Fashion Week outfit. Some people dress comfortably and blend into the crowd, while others wear a trend salad in the craziest way possible in the hopes that street style photographers will capture their image.  I’m closer to the comfort zone, then the pea-cocking zone (as dressing to photographed it referred to).

The clothing I buy for my New York Fashion Week outfits need to be pieces I know I will re-wear when in my daily life. I have needed a new little black dress for my closet for several months now. This prompted me to find a fabulous little black dress I could wear to fashion week, as well as keep in my closet for last minute dinners, theater events, and parties. A little black dress which is both comfortable and flattering is always the perfect wardrobe staple!

I was thrilled to find this little black dress. It has draped, asymmetrical lines which is an extremely hot trend for fall 2017. The fabric is a cotton jersey which feels like a soft tee-shirt but looks dressier then a tee. The draping hits in all the right spots; taking ten pounds off my body. I love clothing which makes me thinner then I am! Love!

Despite the fact that I was wearing black, famous street style photographer Denton Taylor snapped a few photos of my little black dress! It was so much fun! Who says you can’t get snapped by photographers while being practical in your fashion week outfit ideas?

These silver boots turned out to be really comfortable, and helped get me through a long day of shows. I did a lot of standing in lines, and walking to shows; these boots were made walking, and that’s just what they did! Love that!

This was my outfit for Saturday, which was my second day of shows at New York Fashion Week. I went to Taoray Wang, Runa Ray, Custo Barcelona, Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo, A Detacher, and Academy of Art. Between A Detacher and Acdemy of Art, I swung over to the rewardStyle Rooftop Part. It was so much fun seeing so many of my fellow bloggers; and many blogger friends! Here is a fun little video I took with Dawn from Fashion Should be Fun and Laura from Have Need Want. We are “Charlie’s Angels.” You can tell, right? haha

Stay tuned for more coverage from the New York Fashion Week shows. Spring 2018 is looking fabulous!

They call me mellow yellow

yellow for summer 2017 summer maxi dress cult gaia ark back in stockshein dress style bloggerhow to wear yellow

Wearing: ivory tassel earrings / Chanel sunglasses / lipstick c/o Estee Lauder Sly Wink / dress c/o Shein (under $20!!) / rose gold cuff / Cult Gaia bag / Chanel summer nail polish / Christian Louboutin espadrilles (old, shop similar espadrilles here under $100)

So this is the yellow dress. THE yellow dress I had planned to wear at the rewardStyle “Escape to Tulum” pool party a couple of weeks ago. It was in my suitcase, and I was ready to wear it! Unfortunately I could not wear it because I forgot to pack my strapless bra. Ugh! Total faux-pas.

I did wear it shortly after returning from Dallas to my friends house for some yummy BBQ. We snapped a few photos in front of our oh-so-picturesque garage door before leaving the house. I didn’t want to start peacocking at my my friend’s house, so it was better to snap a few photos at home before we left. I really wanted to share this dress with you!

Mustard is a hot color trend this season, and it is a new color for my closet. I tend to gravitate towards shades of blue, pink, purple, and green. Of course, I wear my share of black and white too! This season, I decided it was time to break out of my normal color pattern and try the mustard trend. I am so glad I did!

Do you know what my husband said when I came down the stairs in this dress? He said, “Wow, that’s a really nice dress. It looks pretty on you. Aren’t you overdressed?” haha This is a casual dress silly! I was surprised he said that because he tends to like form-fitting clothing, or short hemlines. It was really nice to hear him compliment a maxi dress! Love that!

This will be a really fun dress to wear during the spring, and summer seasons. It looks cute for a pool party, backyard BBQ, or as a beach cover-up; plus this mustard dress is under $20! Love!

So have you ever packed an outfit, or a dress, for a trip, and not been able to wear it on the trip, only to wear it later on?

Thanks for stopping by!
