Oooh I cannot wait for spring! I am so tired of cold weather, so any glimpse of the sun, and I am grabbing spring clothing, and trying to gut out the cold! haha This was a bit too cold the other day, so I didn’t last long. I will say, you can throw a denim jacket over this dress, and pair it with funky sneakers or ankle boots, and it will work in 60-degree weather. I tried to wear my comfy slides, that was a mistake. Of course, these slides will be amazing in six weeks when the weather warms up!

Isn’t this bright blue dress fun? Bright hues are hot for spring and summer 2022, and this dress is the right shade of blue to take me through both seasons. I also love the fact that it is under $100. Isn’t that amazing?! While it can be worn with wedges espadrilles or slides for warm weather days, it can be paired with sneakers or boots, as well as a denim jacket, so cooler days. This is a great casual dress! I cannot wait to wear it more.

Remember woven slides from last year? They are hot again this year. If you have flat, or high heel woven slides, pull them out of the back of your closet and get ready to rock them again this year. The look is hot! Love that!

Spring dresses and a formal tea

How cute are my daughters!! We snapped these photos on our walk back to the car after our annual NCL tea. Isn’t it funny how I always look for a wall? haha, Anyhoo. . .There had been a farmer’s market going on when we arrived, so I ended up parking several blocks away from the tea venue. My daughter was smart, and brought a pair of sneakers for the walk to the car! I think she’s ready to be a commuter!

In case you are wondering what NCL is, it is the National Charity League. It is a Mother/Daughter volunteer organization which also provides leadership skills, leadership opportunities, and it solidifies character building, and etiquette taught at home. It’s a great organization for helping craft your daughter into a powerful lady, as well as give us Mom’s a chance to spend valuable time with our tween/teen daughters. The annual tea is part of the etiquette lessons we teach our daughters. It is also a fun event to share with our daughters!

The theme this year was “An Afternoon in Wonderland” and it was a beautiful, whimsical theme! The centerpieces were adorable and played off the theme perfectly. The tea committee did such a fabulous job! My daughter’s love the annual tea, as it is one of the rare times each year they get to dress up! My teen picked out this pretty pink dress and my tween chose a vintage inspired blue number. I think they both looked like princesses! I love how they put their outfits together all by themselves. It’s so cute!

While my dress isn’t as fabulous against this pastel wall as my daughters dresses, it was very comfortable and worked well for the tea. I wore it in the morning with flats for my teen’s orchestra concert, then I switched to heels in the afternoon for the tea. It’s a very versatile dress! I am looking forward to pairing it with sandals and a bamboo bag this summer on more casual occasions. It’s a great spring/summer dress!

So, I want to circle back and talk about this all for a minute. Isn’t is beautiful? We found it in downtown Campbell. It’s really pretty and eye-catching in person. I’m so glad someone painted it for everyone to admire!

Twirling into the end of summer

Last Saturday night was so much fun! My friend Dawn from Fashion Should Be Fun invited me to attend the Mimi Tran fashion show with her at Santana Row. I am so happy she did! It was a blast sitting front row with her and seeing Mimi Tran’s latest collection take the catwalk.

I decided to wear my new black and white scarf dress which I bought when I was in Florida visiting the first Chico’s store on Sanibel Island. My original plan was to belt the dress, but the belt wouldn’t stay put, so I took it off and wore the dress sans obi belt; and I loved it! The hemline is so much fun, and the dress construction is really comfortable. This was a no-fuss outfit which is exactly what you want to wear when it’s time to have fun!!

Although summer is still in full swing, I am craving the fall season. The recent evening and morning fog have me feeling fall; and I had my first pumpkin pie latte at a local coffee shop. So, let’s just say I am trying to make fall happen. 😉

This fall dress is easy to wear right now, as long as the temperatures stay under 80 like we have had recently. When the weather cools down, I plan on wearing this dress casually with a moto jacket and western style booties. It will be a great daytime dress! The dress can also be glammed up with a necklace and sparkling earrings. Did you hear crystal chandelier earrings for daytime are coming back? Oh, I need to dig out my old pairs and start wearing them! But I digress. . .
