The Chanel Cruise 2019/20 collection is one of the last collections Karl Lagerfeld worked on. With that said, there is something nostalgic about this beauty collection; even though designers typically outsource beauty, and he may not have had a huge part in the choosing of these colors. I will just pretend that he did! haha

The past couple of years, Chanel has been releasing their Cruise makeup collection at the time of year when they traditionally had released their summer collections. This switch is a bit confusing as many of us are looking for summer inspiration for our wardrobes at this time of year; I don’t think of the cruise or resort season until I am done with the holiday season! But, that could just be me. . .so. . .I digress. . .

Instead of talking about the Chanel summer 2019 nail polish collection, here we are thinking six months ahead, to the Chanel Cruise 2020 beauty collection; shortly after the runway show. I have to say, although I was looking for summer, and found cruise, and I am not sad. These colors are fabulous! I can totally rock these cruise collection hues during the warm summer months, after all, they are both vacation, warm weather seasons; right?!

For the Cruise 2019/20 beauty collection, Chanel has given us hues which play well with both warm, and cool color palettes. We can wear purple nails with warm hues, or cool hues; now that’s nail innovation! Chanel Purple Ray is a warm purple nail polish, which plays well with this year’s color hues, as well as purple hues. On the cool purple side, Chanel Open Air is a cool purple hue with blue undertones which is absolutely fabulous. There are several lipstick colors which are equally wearable, as well as classic eye colors. This is a beautiful collection!

So, without further ado, here is a review of my favorite makeup items from the Chanel Cruise 2019/20 beauty collection!

Chanel Cruise 2020 nail polish: Afterglow

Chanel Afterglow nail polish from the Cruise 2020 beauty collection is a clean and classic beige polish perfect for everyday wear. This is a great color to wear on a daily basis, and if you have a bright, colorful palette for the summer or cruise season, this is the polish color for you. This will also be a fabulous nail polish for travel since when it chips, you cannot see the chips. I plan to wear Chanel Afterglow nail polish when I travel this summer 2019 vacation season. Love it!

Chanel Purple Ray nail polish is a beautiful beige-purple nail polish hue from the Chanel Cruise 2029/20 beautiful collection. This is a clean and fresh purple which can be worn now, in the summer 2019 season, as an everyday color. If you typically wear a warm color palette, this is the purple nail color for you this summer or cruise season. Chanel Purple Ray nail polish is a warm purple with a slight beige undertone. It’s a light purple, and easy to wear on a daily basis. It looks very chic! Love!

How fabulous is this purple hue! I am in love! Chanel Open Air nail polish from the Chanel Cruise 2020 beauty collection is a cool purple shade with blue undertones. It’s my favorite of the three resort colors, and I am in love! I know this is the color I will be wearing on a daily basis this summer 2019 season. It’s a great compliment to my predominantly blue wardrobe, and it works perfectly with the current color trends for the summer season, as well as the upcoming cruise season of course! I’m looking forward to wearing Chanel Open Air nail polish often this summer 2019 season, as well as the upcoming cruise 2020 season. Love it!

The entire Cruise 2019/20 beauty collection from Chanel is fabulous. I love all the lipstick colors, and eye makeup colors. For my summer makeup bag, I picked up two lipsticks from the cruise 2020 collection, and one eye pencil. The lipstick colors I picked up are Chanel Lumiere lipstick, which is a daytime beige, and Chanel Contraste lipstick which is a fabulous and dramatic hue for evening occasions; and days when I am feeling a bit bold! These are pretty lipstick colors which are not a flat cream lipstick, they add more of a shine with color to the lips without caking or looking unnatural.  Chanel Coco lipsticks are my favorite type of lipstick to wear, they are moisturizing and look amazing. Love!!

One of my favorite lipstick collections is Chanel’s line of Rouge Coco lipsticks. The Chanel Rouge Coco lipstick collection is sheer, and hydrating. They make the perfect daily lip colors! For the spring 2019 season, Chanel has created a new collection of colors in a bridge collection named Chanel Rouge Coco Flash.

I don’t really see any difference between the regular Rouge Coco lipstick collection, and Rouge Coco Flash. They are both collections of hydrating, sheer lip color. I love how smooth this lipstick applies, and how it’s just as hydrating as a lip balm. There are a wide variety of colors to choose from in the new Chanel Rouge Coco Flash lipstick collection. I decided to try out a soft neutral hue named Casual. If you prefer going by numbers, it’s color #52.

This is a really soft hue, which my daughter describes as “the same color as you.” OK, so Chanel Casual is my skin color. I guess that is a an easy way to describe it! haha. Just know, this colors appears more peachy in online stores. In real life, as you can see in my photos, it’s more of a warm beige.

There is a wide variety of colors in this collection. I definitely want to invest in a few more colors for the upcoming spring season. There are some really pretty pinks shades, and neutral hues which have caught my eye. You can see the entire range of colors here. Which color is your favorite?

Every year, Chanel releases a second makeup collection in line with Spring Act II. This late spring release is usually a collection with a theme which takes inspiration from the spring season. For the late spring 2019 makeup release, Chanel has created Pierres de Lumiere which is inspired by a paradox of precious stones. The nail polish colors from the collection play with color and transparency of light, creating beautiful alternatives to the classic taupe and neon pink from Chanel’s standard spring 2019 nail polish collection.  

The Chanel Pierres de Lumiere collection offers us two translucent colors, Chanel Eau de Nacre and Chanel Perle de Corail. Eau de Nacre by Chanel is a soft and pretty, translucent white nail polish which is fabulous for the warm weather season. While Perle de Corail by Chanel, is a feminine and light twist on the color of 2019. The other colors, Joyau and Jaspe, are bright, and right in line with spring and summer’s bold color trends. There is definitely a color for a every taste in this late spring 2019 nail polish release!

Chanel Eau de Nacre nail polish

Chanel Eau de Nacre is a soft and translucent white nail polish. This is the perfect polish for the warm weather season when you are looking for a neutral that isn’t basic. Forms of white nail polish are always fresh and unexpected when it comes to spring or summer nail polish. Eau de Nacre by Chanel is a great alternative to spring 2019’s taupe hues, and it will be easy to wear daily; or great on toes! I love a good white polish on toes. It’s a not-so-basic neutral nail polish hue which doesn’t compete with varying shoe colors, patterns and styles. I plan on using this color for my toes this spring and summer seasons!

Chanel Jaspe nail polish

Orange you glad Chanel has created a bold orange hue for spring? haha, I am! Chanel Jaspe nail polish is a classic orange hue which is a fun color to wear in late spring, and throughout the summer season. Since shades of orange are a hot color trend for the spring/summer seasons, Jaspe by Chanel is a fabulous nail polish to wear right now in order to rock that color trend. Love!

Chanel Joyau nail polish

Chanel Joyau is a pretty alternative to Techno Bloom from the spring 2019 nail polish collection. Joyau is a slightly darker, shiny bright pink nail polish which is right on trend for the spring season. While Techno Bloom is neon and matte, Joyau is bright and shiny. There is a bold pink for every taste from Chanel for spring 2019, love that!

Chanel Perle de Corail nail polish

Well, Chanel Perle de Corail nail polish is my favorite hue from the Chanel Pierres de Lumiere makeup collection for late spring 2019. This is a soft take on the current coral color trend; and it’s translucent nature is both fresh and beautiful. This is an easy color to wear daily; and it is just breathtaking. I will definitely be wearing Perle de Corail by Chanel often this late spring 2019 season!

I tested all four nail polish colors from the Chanel Pierres de Lumiere makeup collection for late spring 2019 with one base coat, and two coats of colors. All four of them applied evenly without streaking. As with all Chanel nail polishes, they offer a chip-resistant formula which is long lasting. I love the color saturation from these four nail polish colors, they are pretty and can all be worn throughout the season.
