Pop of red for the holidays

wearing: lipstick / statement earrings / black sweater / black belt (old, also love this one) / wide leg jeans / red hobo bag / gemstone bracelets / holiday nail polish / boots /

Do you have a comfortable, go-to outfit every season? This holiday season, my comfy go-to outfit is this; black sweater, wide leg jeans, and a pop of Christmas red. Love!

This sweater is super comfortable, and the dolman sleeves are perfect for our California weather. I can easily go inside and outside and stay warm. Love that!

Another thing that makes this sweater great is that it shows off my gemstone bracelets! They just so happen to be made by a local designer in San Jose. These bracelets are fabulous to own, as well as give as gifts this holiday season. You can find them online here.

Thanks for stopping by! Stay tuned for more holiday coverage right here on the blog!

Cords and a sweater

Corduroy pants outfit ideas: lipstick / statement earrings / turtleneck sweater / olive green tee / black belt / gemstone bracelet / nail polish / brown cords / suede handbag / boots (old, also love this pair) /

There is something nostalgic about corduroy pants. They remind me of the 1970s and early 1980s. So, when I was looking for an alternative to jeans this season, I decided to give these cords a go. I am so glad I did!

Despite the fact that they are long, and I needed to have them shortened, they are super comfortable, and I love how they fit. I decided to go with chocolate brown so that I could mix and match them with various neutral hues. It was all about a fall vibe.

We have weather right now which is in between cool and warm. So, as you Bay Area natives know, it’s all about layering! I popped this sweater over my shoulders so I could easily slip it on if the fog rolled in or the wind got too cool; and it was quite windy when we took these photos! That’s why my hair is tucked into the sweater! haha

I had heard about this noodle place named Taro San Japanese Noodle Bar at Stanford Shopping Center, so we decided to try it. I am so glad we did! My husband ordered a bento box, which he told me was delicious. My son enjoyed his beef udon with a side of sushi. I took the plunge into the special Chef’s menu and ordered the Truffle Mushroom Udon. OMG! It was soooooo good. If you love mushrooms as much as I do, you need to try this! It’s a bit more expensive than the regular udon on the menu, but it was worth every extra penny. It was a mushroom fan’s dream! Loved it!

I look forward to going back and trying more items on the menu. It was so good! Maybe I’ll wear my cords again with another sweater. They are super comfy! Love!

JCrew Berkeley Bucket bag review

baggy clothing trend outfit ideas

wearing: statement earrings / lipstick / turtleneck sweater / wide leg jeans (sold out, also love this pair) / fall nail polish / bucket bag / Mary Jane flats /

I finally broke down and bought a suede bag! Of course, I was quite hesitant, so I bought a hybrid which is suede on one side, and leather on the other. I have to admit, I am in love!

J.Crew has a really popular bucket bag named the Berkeley Bucket Bag. It comes in a large range of colors, as well as this suede and leather combo bag. I decided to buy it because I felt like the bag fit into the north/south tote trend without being a large tote, and it also fit into the slouchy bucket bag trend; well, because it is actually a bucket bag. haha

Instead of my usual handbag review where I show what fits inside, I figured you would already know that daily purse essentials will fit inside this bag. In addition to my wallet, lipstick, keys, phone, and Kleenex, this J.Crew Berkeley Bucket Bag can fit gloves and a snow hat on cold days, as well as a scarf, snacks, and a water bottle. It is really roomy!

Inside the J.Crew Berkeley Bucket Bag, the bag is wide open. For small objects you don’t want to lose, I would recommend adding a small pouch or clutch to keep things organized. In order to secure the bag, there is a tie at the top. I have not used the tie; I tend to just leave the bag open. If I go somewhere where pickpocketing is a concern, I will use a pouch for small items, place a scarf on the top of the bag and tie it to secure it.

I love the slouchy look and feel of this bucket bag. Plus, it is priced under $200, love that! So, if you are looking for a handbag which is affordable yet fits into multiple handbag trends for fall, this is the one! There are plenty of colors to choose from and it has the look of a north/south tote, a bucket bag, and can fit into the role of a medium hobo bag; despite not looking like a hobo bag. Love!

This will be a fun bag to carry throughout the fall season, and beyond!
