Last spring and summer, slip on sneakers were all the rage. For spring 2015, both slip on sneakers and tie sneakers are all the rage. Three cheers for comfortable casual fashion!

Not only have designers and brands created beautiful, fashion-forward slip on sneakers and tie sneakers for spring and summer 2015, these style have been spotted on fashionable feet on the street, and in the tents, at New York Fashion Week! Love that!

Sneakers for spring and summer 2015 are being shown in a variety of prints, colors, and textures. Florals are a huge trend in sneakers for spring 2015. Kate Spade famously showed her floral sneakers at fashion week for spring and summer 2015; and she isn’t the only designer seeing flowers for the warm weather season. In addition to florals, designers are showing snake print, animal print, and tie-dye prints on their spring 2015 sneakers.

As shoe styles trend toward more flat styles, and the fashion crowd tires of mega high heels, sneakers are the perfect, comfortable alternative to the current flats, and flat sandal trend. Sneakers are easy to wear, stay put on your feet, and tell the world you are uber cool. Love that!

Sneakers in both slip on and tie form are being shown with a variety of apparel styles for spring 2015. You can wear them with sundresses, casual dresses, midi skirts, mini skirts, and even maxi skirts! Of course sneakers always look amazing with jeans, shorts, and anything traditionally deemed “weekend casual.” Did I state the obvious?

If you have a pair of slip on sneakers from last spring, and they haven’t been worn out, then you are all set for the spring 2015 sneaker season! If you would like to update your wardrobe, look for a pair of tie sneakers since they are the newest sneaker on the street. Well, not really “new,” but new to fashion as a hot trend of the season; because yes, we all own sneakers, but not sneakers like the ones being shown this season!

I found a few fabulous slip on sneakers, and tie sneakers around the web, and I assembled them into the shopping widgets below. I hope you love them! I have my eyes on the floral pair featured above. I feel like I need them in my life. Which pair do you like? Happy shopping, and stay fabulous 😉

Despite the crazy heat wave we had in early March, our normal spring weather pattern has returned to the Bay Area. Yay! Now, if only our normal April Showers would return! But I digress. . .

When the temperatures hover in the 60’s and 70’s, it is nice to have a lightweight, spring sweater. I love this nautical sweater by JCrew Factory. It is perfect for foggy mornings and cool, breezy spring days. I love wearing a navy, short sleeve tee underneath so I can take the sweater off when the fog burns off later in the day. My go-to tee is this one. This sweater also looks cute with a denim skirt and flats 😉

I am still adjusting to the return of flared jeans. I feel like skinny jeans are more flattering on my short legs. So, in order to lengthen my leg, I feel like I need a really high shoe. Even with a tall heel, I still don’t feel like flare jeans flatter me as much as skinny jeans. Although, I have to admit, they are more comfortable. Skinny jeans can be a bit constricting! I also love the fresh silhouette of flare jeans, and bootcut jeans. The 70’s trend is my favorite this season! What are your thoughts? Are you thrilled to ditch your skinnies and go back to flares; or do you have mixed emotions like me?

Channeling the 1970’s

Spring 2015 is bringing us a nod to the 1970’s. There was 1970’s inspiration all over the runways for spring 2015 in New York, Milan, Paris and London. After seeing this trend on the runways explode on the street for spring 2015, I decided to shop my closet for a little 1970’s inspiration.

Gap’s Long & Lean jeans have been a longtime favorite of mine; and with the skinny jean trend, mine have sat in my closet begging to be worn for the past few years. I was thrilled to take them out and look at the 1970’s silhouette these jeans offer. They also happen to be a LOT more comfortable than skinny jeans! Love that!

Military green and military jacket styles are also a continuing trend from 2014 which is proving to be important for 2015. So, I was happy to find my military green, military inspired style jacket from last year fits perfectly into this continuing trend. I’m looking forward to wearing this 1970’s inspired outfit now and into spring 2015.

What do you think of the 1970’s silhouette and trends including boho-chic, military and flare jeans, coming into style for spring 2015?
