When I was in New York for fashion week back in September, I was thrilled to see so many shades of blue on the runways! Since blue is my favorite color, this is definitely a color trend I don’t mind jumping on as quickly as possible!

This short coat caught my eye right away at Banana Republic. Not only is it a great casual style, perfect for wearing with jeans, it is a fabulous shade of blue! I love the bright, pale turquoise color which brightens up a dreary winter day. In addition to being bright, this coat is extremely cozy! I love staying warm in it. If you need a perfect, cozy, casual coat for right now, this is the coat to check out! You will love it.

The blanket scarf pictured above is also my favorite blanket scarf this season. It is soft, smooth, and very cozy. It adds additional warmth to any outfit I wear; and I love the color mix! The soft grey combined with green, and two shades of blue, makes this blanket scarf so pretty! It also comes in purple, which I am tempted to pick up since both colors are on sale! I may pick up a couple to give as gifts for Christmas too. It can easily roll up and fit inside a stocking! Can we say best. stocking. stuffer, ever! Yes! Maybe Santa will fill my stocking with the purple one. . .hmmmm

The cold weather is here! In order to stay cozy, I have been favoring blanket scarves to keep myself warm during these chilly days. My favorite burgundy blanket scarf is pictured above, and I have found it is my favorite scarf to reach for in the morning.

With Marsala being the color of 2015, and Rose Quartz/Serenity being the colors of 2016, burgundy is a fabulous color to wear right now; and into the new year. It blends perfectly with Rose Quartz, and serenity. If you follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed I have paired this burgundy blanket scarf with my light blue Balenciaga handbag; a nod to Marsala mixed with Serenity-a favorite color combo of mine.

I got these Joie booties in the fall 2013 season. They are definitely one of my favorite pairs to reach for every fall season. Joie offers these booties in their classic collection, so the booties are always available for purchase. I am thinking of adding a pair in black suede. They are extremely comfortable, and the suede is unbelievably soft! Love!

These booties, combined with my burgundy blanket scarf, create a combination I just cannot get enough of this season! I love wearing the two together. Now that Serenity of one of the colors of 2016, I plan to wear this combo with my blue Balenciaga often. I love how pale blue and burgundy look together.

Another winning color combination for right now, and into early spring, is burgundy with pale pink. Rose Quartz, the other color of 2016, blends perfectly with any shade of burgundy. It would look amazing with a pale rose Balenciaga! Not that I have added one to my handbag wish list. . .OK, maybe I have!

A girl can never have too many shoes, handbags, or blanket scarves!

My twelve-year-old daughter took these pictures. Didn’t she do a good job with a DSLR camera? I cannot believe how fast she is growing up!

I recently went out for happy hour with my friend Laura of Have Need Want. This was the perfect opportunity to wear a girl’s night out outfit, since I don’t have a chance to go out with my friends very often.

We went to Steamer’s in Los Gatos for some yummy appetizers, and fabulous conversation. It is always fun to meet up with Laura and talk. It was mid week, so we both chose to wear cute girl’s night out outfits which were on the casual glam side.

I was excited to have the chance to wear this ruana, which I purchased back in August for the fall season. It was nice to have cool weather, and to be able to wrap myself up in it! Ruana’s are a step above a blanket scarf; so they are are a casual glam way of keeping cozy. Love that!

If you have seen my last few blog posts, you may have noticed that I have recently worn a pair of skinny jeans, and side-zip flare jeans, from Gap’s Resolution denim collection. The pair of black flare jeans I am wearing in the photos above are also from that collection. I have fallen in love with Gap’s resolution denim collection, and find myself wearing these three pairs of jeans often.

Gap’s Resolution denim line has a bit of stretch in them; giving them a comfortable feel, and ideal fit! They make the perfect jeans for girl’s night out out outfit combinations.
