I am so excited the economy is opening back up! Last week, I was able to meet up with my friend Dawn from Fashion Should be Fun for the first time since everything shut down last year. It was so emotional and amazing to see her in person, and to be able to talk non-stop; and talk non-stop we did!

We met up at Santana Row and enjoyed a delicious lunch at Straits. If you are local, and haven’t eaten there yet, what are you waiting for? The food is delicious! It’s an Asian fusion menu with healthy options available. Since I am on a diet, it was really easy to find something healthy and delicious on their menu. I enjoyed the Fuji apple and prawn salad as well as the roti appetizer, which I shared with Dawn.

After lunch, we took a walk around Santana Row and browsed through several shops. It was such a nice day, and we were having so much fun, we walked across the street to Valley Fair!

We took a walk around Valley Fair and window shopped; especially where there were handbags. haha. How fun are these teeny, tiny little handbags at the Jimmy Choo shop! They were literally doll sized. I don’t think a phone could fit inside, just maybe keys and a lipstick? They were so cute! I tried to find them on their website for you, but they aren’t there. If you have a Jimmy Choo boutique where you live, go check them out. They’re so cute and fun!

The entire excursion was a little over two hours, then I had to go and pick up my kids from school; another fun thing that has reopened! Yay!

In order to ensure I was comfortable, and ready for a lot of walking, I wore these soft and comfy espadrilles. They are a fabulous go-to shoe for warm days; it was in the mid-80’s. The jeans were comfy too, and of course the tee was perfect for the weather! I really am addicted to these puff sleeves! It might be my favorite trend of the year!

I am looking forward to June 15 when the state officially reopens! Fingers crossed we end our mask mandate soon too. What have you been up to lately now that things are reopening?

Thanks for stopping by!

This pink puff sleeve top is the same top you have seen me wear in stripes. I love my striped top so much, which I purchased last fall, that I decided to get one in another color! This coral-pink hue is cheery and fun for the spring and summers seasons. Love it!

The puff sleeve trend is so much fun. While it is reminiscent of the 1980s, puff sleeves in 2021 are not nearly as dramatic as they were back in the day; making them easy and fun to wear on a daily basis. I love pairing this casual puff sleeve tee with my classic jeans; which happen to be a little loose on me! I have been starting to lose the weight I gained during quarantine. Yay!

Puff sleeves are definitely my favorite trend this year. I love how this simple sleeve adjustment can make any outfit, casual or dressy, look fresh and new. What is your favorite trend this year?

I want to give a quick shout-out to this handbag. It’s the perfect size for daily wear; and the chain is surprisingly comfortable and not awkward at all! Stay tuned for my full review later this week!

Basic Bay Area street style

bay area street style spring 2021

Basic Bay Area street style outfit details: bold earrings / sunglasses / spring lipstick / black puffy sleeve top / snake buckle belt / spring nail polish / bold gold-tone ring / black classic IT bag / spring wide leg jeans / slip-on loafers /

You might be wondering why I am swinging my head behind me. I originally tried to pop off my mask for a few quick pictures, but was quickly intercepted by a security guard who reminded me of the local mask policy. Despite being outside, and vaccinated, I am still required to mask outside here in Santa Clara county. I popped my mask back on, and took a few photos. The pictures where you can actually see my mask, well, I didn’t like them, so I am sharing this one with you where my mask is hidden. I mean, do you like photos of yourself in a mask?

Photos of myself in a mask make me a little sad. I was fine with masked photos earlier in the pandemic, but now that people are getting vaccinated, and we are opening things back up, I prefer to see peoples’ smiling faces in photos. I’m done with seeing masked people in pictures; I see enough of that on the streets. What are your thoughts?

Well, let’s move away from the mask discussion, and onto casual spring style! Everyone in the Bay Area has a casual denim go-to look; and more often than not, it involves a black top and bag. We kind of have a basic go-to look here in the Bay Area; black top, jeans, IT bag, and comfy shoes. Each season I like to have at least one fabulous black top; after all, basic tee-shirts can get boring. A black top which reflects the current street style and/or runway trends is always a must!

Puff sleeves were huge on the runways for spring 2021, and they are also a huge bay area street style trend. This black top is comfy and ideal for everyday wear, yet it reflects the important puff sleeve trend. Love that!

Denim trends are also important; especially for daily looks. This spring 2021 season, we are seeing wide-leg jeans, “mom” waist-lines, which is really just a ’90’s silhouette, and classic cuts. These light wash jeans offer a wide leg, and higher waist. I also love the button fly; which is very ’90’s!

We also love our IT bags in the San Francisco Bay Area; which is why I am constantly talking about them! So of course, to finish off the ideal Bay Area street style look, one needs an ideal IT bag. I topped off my go-to look with my spring go-to IT bag, the Prada Cleo. Love!

I wore this look to Valley Fair mall with my daughters, and my Mom, last week during spring break. We wandered around window shopping, and then picked up Shake Shack burgers to-go. They have the yummiest burgers and fries!

Go-to looks are always important since it’s an outfit you know will always work. Do you have basic go-to looks each season?
