Top 12 colors for spring 2019 from NYFW

spring 2019 color trends

Although we are still pining away for cooler temperatures so we can all wear our new fall clothing, the runways in New York are giving us the latest and greatest fashion for the spring 2019 season. Every season, color authority Pantone shows us the top colors designers ordered for dying the fabric they used in their newest collections.

Drum roll please. . . these are the hot new colors for spring 2019! Courtesy of Pantone! You can read the official report here.

The fall 2018 season has turned into a darker season then we expected. While designers showed vivid colors on their runways for fall and winter, store buyers opted for darker hues and filled shelves with an almost depressing array of color. Designers turned their nose up at this and are still showing brighter hues for the upcoming spring 2019 season. I love all the vivid colors in this report! Hopefully store buyers will get the hint and liven up store shelves next season with these beautiful hues!

My favorite colors from the spring 2019 color palette are “Princess Blue,” “Pink Peacock,” and “Sweet Lilac.” I feel like Sweet Lilac is the new Millennial Pink. Please raise your hand if you are sick of blush aka Millennial Pink?! My hand is waaaay up! I’m excited for more saturated versions of pink in the spring season!

Top neutral colors for spring 2019

Thank goodness there isn’t any black in this neutral color palette! While black is still walking down the spring runways in full force, it isn’t dominating the color palette like it ended up doing for fall. This spring, we can enjoy light neutrals such as “Soybean” and rich neutrals such as “Brown Granite.” I’m loving the earthy feel of those two colors and would love seeing them paired with the four fire hues shown above in the top 12 color report. Actually, I love brown with bright blue or pink too. It has a very early 1990s vibe which is still very relevant right now.

What do you think of the spring 2019 color report? Do you love or hate any of the colors? Which are your favorites?

Fall 2018 handbag trends: saddle bags and top flap satchels

fall 2018 handbag trends saddle bags top flap satchels

Fall 2018 handbag trends saddle bags, top flap satchels or lady bags, from top left: striped saddle bag / black lady bag satchel (under $400) / blue and black pattern saddle bag (under $400) / ivory saddle bag / cobalt blue lady bag satchel / red lady bag satchel (I have this bag in black and love it!) /

The lady bag is back; and so is the saddle bag. The top flap satchel, otherwise known as the Lady Bag, is the hottest silhouette in structured bags this fall 2018 season. When it comes to a more casual look, look for the top flap shoulder bag aka the saddle bag.

There are plenty of fall 2018 handbag trends to look forward to this season. While we have logo bags still going in full force, belt bags taking the place of the cross body bag, black bags being the color of the season, and western inspired designs on bags; the classic lady bag and saddle bag are most likely in your closet. This makes them classic enough to invest in while, not worrying about longevity over the years.

Lady bags and saddle bags are classic; this makes them sound investments when it comes to handbag purchases this fall season. A lady bag can be used season after season for dressier occasions and for the office. A saddle bag is a classic, casual stand-by which is always in style.

If you can only buy one bag this fall 2018 season, look for a flap bag. If you plan to use your bag for work, or prefer a structured bag, then the Lady Bag is your bag of the season. If you are more casual and carefree, opt for a saddle bag. When it comes to color, the color of fall 2018 is black; but feel free to grab a color or pattern which speaks to you. Sometimes the best way to spice up a neutral wardrobe is with a colorful handbag!

Fall 2018 fashion trends: western inspiration

fall 2018 fashion trends western style

Fall 2018 fashion trends western inspiration from top left: black denim western style shirt / western style dress / studded brown saddle bag / plaid western style shirt / ivory western style booties / ivory saddle bag (under $300!!) / black studded saddle bag / distressed black western style bootie (I bought this pair for fall-love!)

The fall 2018 fashion trends are starting to hit store shelves, and one of the biggest breakthrough style trends to make it from the runways to the streets is western inspiration. Store buyers are loving boots and booties with cowboy details; and they are loving studded bags, turquoise belt buckles, and rodeo-ready apparel. Yee-haw!

This is a fun trend to rock this fall. Instead of a regular tee with jeans on casual days, we can all up our games by adding a western inspired accessory or article of clothing to our everyday looks to make our wardrobes fresh, and hot off the runway. Love this!

I’m not one to sport a western shirt, but I do love the cowboy boot inspired booties, belt buckles, and studded bags. What can I say, I am an accessories girl! I already purchased this belt, which happens to be on sale, and this pair of booties. Both items are on my list to wear at New York Fashion Week next month!

If you already own a saddle bag, you’re set when it comes to western inspired handbags for fall! The saddle bag is a classic western handbag and works perfectly with the seasons trends. If not, then look for one with studded details for fall 2018. Cowboy boots are a classic boot style, chances are you have a timeless pair in your closet, if not, why not invest in a pair! If full boots aren’t your thing, western inspired booties are hot this fall season. Look for one with a western silhouette and modern flair like this pair.
