The summer season is almost here, which means warm weather and the chance to wear sandals! Of course not every day is about fabulous high heeled sandals which turn heads. There are days when a Fashionista needs to wear a more practical, comfortable type of sandal; the flat sandal.

Flat sandals are the ultimate staple for casual days during the summer; and just because they are flat, does not mean they have to sacrifice style! There are so many fabulous flat sandal styles on the market for summer 2013 which reflect current runway trends and what is hot on the street.

Flat sandals for summer 2013 are being shown in bright colors as well as neon hues. They are also being shown in the season’s ultimate neutral; metallic, as well as 2012’s continuing trend color blocking. If you have flat sandals from last year which are color blocked, bright or metallic, you are in luck! Those sandals can be pulled out from storage and placed front and center in closet. Love that!

There is also a huge trend right now in sandals; the modified Gladiator. These shoe styles offer multiple straps which travel up to the ankle and stop. These are not the Gladiator sandals from a few years back which travel towards the knee-so leave those in storage!

Another huge trend in sandals this summer season is the ankle strap. For “of-the-moment” flat sandals, look for a single strap in front with an ankle strap in a bright hue, neon color or mint green. Love this!

Summer is around the corner and one of the casual staples every Fashionista needs in her wardrobe is a pair of comfortable, yet fabulous flip flops! There are so many amazing flip flops on the market for summer 2013. The bright color trend has given us fabulous colors to choose from. The rocker chic trend, which has evolved into a retro “Punk” trend on the street, is giving us flip flops with studs! There is also a huge trend right now with bows. Flip flops with bows are popping up everywhere and ranging from sweet pastel pink to black with gold studs! Love this!

Flip flops have become a fashion statement over the past few years. Gone are the days when a fashion-savvy flip flop wearer picks up a $1.50 pair at the local drug store to throw on with a pair of shorts. Flip flops have come a long way. Designers such as Valentino and Prada have designed cutting-edge flip flops which offer comfort, style and happen to be made from poolside friendly materials! Love that!

The “IT” sandal style is here. Sandals with one single front strap and an ankle strap were all over the spring/summer 2013 runways in New York, Paris, Milan and London. This runway trend has proven to be popular on the street for spring 2013 and is showing no sign of slowing down as we head into the summer 2013 season.

This fabulous shoe style is being shown as flats, kitten heels, wedges and high heels. Designers are having fun with this sandal style by showing color blocked styles, textured fabrications including exotics and single colors which are anywhere from neutral to eye catching neon. This is the shoe style to own for 2013!

These sandals can easily be worn with skirts, dresses, pants; and are a great way to spice up skinny jeans and even patterned shorts! Love this!
