Go Red for Women Day; help spread the word about heart disease

Heart disease is the number one killer of women. It is a fact. Unfortunately many women do not realize they are at risk for a stroke or heart attack. This is why it is important for everyone, not just women, to help raise awareness about this deadly disease.

Today, February 1, 2013, is “Go Red for Women” day across the country. Today kicks off heart disease awareness month. By wearing red today, you can join women across the country in helping to raise awareness about heart disease. In fact, by wearing red throughout the month of February, you can help raise awareness all month long! Even better!

You do not need to wear an all-red outfit today and everyday this month in order to help raise awareness about heart disease. By wearing one red item, whether it is an accessory, apparel item or a simple red ribbon pin, you will be helping raise awareness about heart disease everywhere you go.

To learn the facts about heart disease, the number one killer of women, please visit GoRedForWomen.organd do not forget to wear your red! Thank you J

Spring 2013 trends: bright colors

Although pastels are a hot, up and coming color trend for the spring 2013 season, the bright color trend from 2012 is showing no sign of slowing down. New York and Milan designers favored the playful color palettes for their spring/summer 2013 collections and store buyers have followed suit by stocking shelves and racks with bright colors and even neon hues.

The bright colors from 2013 have carried into spring 2013; this means Fashionistas everywhere can shop their closets for spring before heading out to the store. Save money, love this!

For spring 2013, the most popular bright hues include pink, green, cobalt blue, blue, yellow and splashes of orange. Although emerald green has been the color of the year, shoppers have also been flocking to bright, candy pink for spring 2013. Hmmm . . . looks like emerald may have a little competition this season! Thankfully green and pink look quite nice together, so there shouldn’t be too much competition

When shopping for colors this spring 2013 season, look for colors which are on the rise and will carry you into fall 2013. Emerald green and blue are two colors which have already been spotted in fall 2013 collections. These colors will make good investment purchases for the year. Pink, whether bright or pastel, is also an up-and-coming color which will make a good investment. Orange is starting to fade, so it is a good color to keep from last year, but try not to overbuy for 2013; it has not shown itself to be important in the fall 2013 collections yet.

Bright colors are easy to wear through accessories or apparel. If you are too shy to wear a bright dress or top, look for a bright pair of pointed toe pumps or a brightly colored daytime clutch. This is an easy way to add a fabulous pop of color to your wardrobe and these items can be worn with several different outfits. More bang for your buck! Fabulous!

We found a few bright items around the web and assembled them into this article. Hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous

Spring 2013 color trends: pastels

One of the big trends for spring 2013 is the pastel color palette. While bright hues and shades of neon remain important as we move into 2013 from 2012, pastel colors, which were first introduced in Paris last year, have moved to the forefront of fashion.

Pastel hues are vibrant this year. These are not baby pinks and baby blues; they are pastel candy colors which are sweet, playful and slightly edgy. Green is not soft, it is a bright mint and blue is the color of the sky on a clear day; not a baby boy’s blanket. Some brands and designers are even creating neon pastels for spring 2013. Sound like an oxymoron? It is; yet it works!

Vibrant pastel hues are easier for most people to wear, while baby soft hues can be tough for pale and dark skin-tones, vibrant pastels work with almost every skin-tone and hair color. Since spring 2013’s pastel color palette is easy to wear, it makes the perfect color palette to invest in for the upcoming warm weather season! Love that!

Many of spring 2013’s vibrant pastel hues can also be mixed and matched with certain neon hues and bright colors. One of the style trends for spring is to clash; mixing patterns and colors which are unexpected is du rigueur for the season. Spring 2013 is all about F-U-N! Love this!

The hottest pastel hues for spring 2013 include blue, green, pink, lavender, yellow and orange. What is your favorite pastel hue? Happy shopping and say fabulous
