It is that time of year when we start traveling! One of my big pet peeves, and I am sure it is one of yours too, is getting chips in my nail polish while traveling. After all, you cannot take nail polish on the plane! Yikes!

If you are taking a road trip, you will be able to travel with your nail polish. This will make it easy if you need to touch up your manicure. Unfortunately, if you plan to take a plane, the nail polish bottle will have to stay home. Thankfully there is an easy solution to this problem. Wear light nail polish and a top coat.

Yes, it is that easy. If you wear a light-colored nail polish with a good top coat, your manicure should last at least seven days with normal wear and tear. So, unless you are leaving town for a month, you should be OK on vacation with a light manicure and a strong top coat. My favorite top coat is from Chanel. Dior also makes a very strong top coat, so either brand will work well for travel.

This spring 2023 season, there are a few nail polish colors which are light, and perfect for travel. This yellowish ivory hue from Gucci is a fun color for travel; especially if you are going somewhere exotic or tropical! It is also a neutral, so it should play well with what you pack in your suitcase. I also love these classic and neutral hues from Chanel. They are from their neutral collection which has multiple light nail polish colors, perfect for travel! Love that!

How pretty is this turquoise nail polish from Gucci! I had such a good experience with the Gucci spring 2023 nail polish collection, that I decided to look through their regular collection and see the colors available. This turquoise caught my eye, as I have always loved turquoise nail polish when it is featured for a particular season. This shade did not disappoint!

Dorothy Turquoise by Gucci is a pretty turquoise hue which is perfect for the spring and summer months. It will play well with the spring and summer clothing palettes we are seeing hit store shelves right now. This nail polish is also a great alternative to the neutral hues other designers are putting out for the spring season. If you like fun colors, Gucci is serving them up right now! Love that!

I tested out Gucci Dorothy Turquoise nail polish with one base coat, and two coats of color. As with other Gucci cream nail polishes, it is long lasting and offers ideal color saturation. No streaking! Love it!

The spring 2023 nail polish collection from Chanel is finally here! This year, Chanel has given us two colors for the spring season with one classic hue, and one fun color. Love that!

The classic hue is Chanel Rouge Cuir, which is a timeless berry shade that can be worn during any season of the year. I see this as an expansion of the neutral hues Chanel released last fall. If you are looking for an updated neutral, this is your spring nail polish color.

If you are looking for something a little bit more fun, Chanel Watermelon nail polish is a shiny, sheer, sugary orange. This nail polish applies with a sheer, jelly-like look which is high on shine. I used two coats of color in my photos, and as you can see, the polish doesn’t completely saturate the nail. with three coats, you can recreate the color you see in the bottle.

So, without further ado, here are the two spring nail polish hues from Chanel.

Chanel Watermelon nail polish is a jelly-like polish which does not offer a lot of color saturation. If you want the color in the bottle, it will require three coats. If you prefer the avant-garde look of the shiny and jelly-like consistency of this polish, one or two coats will achieve your goal. Photo taken with one base coat, two coats of color; no top coat.

How pretty is Chanel Rouge Cuir nail polish for spring! I love it! This is a fabulous, updated neutral hue which can be worn to the office, daily, and also in the evening. It is the ideal polish to put on and leave on until it chips, or your nails grow. Tested with one base coat, two coats of color, and no top coat.
