When I attended the Malan Breton spring/summer 2015 fashion show at New York Fashion Week, the designer gave out swag bags filled with goodies compliments of the Taiwan Government. One of those goodies was three bottles of nail polish from Nubar in traditional Chinese colors. The colors also complimented Malan Breton’s runway collection which you can view here. I had never heard of Nubar nail polish before, so I was excited to see it was both natural and vegan. As soon as I received Nubar’s nail polish, I took off my nail polish and painted my nails with this beautiful gold nail polish by Nubar; 24K.

24K nail lacquer by Nubar is a rich gold nail polish which is eye catching and transcends seasons. The gold hue is a neutral metallic which plays well with any color palette and can easily be worn with silver or white metal jewelry. Love that! Nubar 24K  nail lacquer was also very strong. The nail polish stayed on my fingers for eight days without chipping. Love that!

I am excited to have been introduced to Nubar nail lacquer. The nail polish does not have a strong scent and applies evenly. It stays on for a week without chipping and is made from all-natural products. Plus, it is cruelty-free and vegan! Who could ask for more?

On day two of New York Fashion Week, the weather was sweltering. It was about ninety degrees, with humidity to match. Of course, what did I pack in my suitcase for the trip? A long sleeved sweater dress. Why you ask? ‘Cause I’m a Rocket Scientist! ( I am so NOT a Rocket Scientist, but I digress.) So, on my first night in New York, I walked, and walked, and walked all the way down to Times Square to find something weather appropriate. Thankfully, there was a two story Express with really cute outfits on display in the window, so I went in!

The clothing I packed for New York was mainly designed to show off my new Marc Jacobs handbag; because I am a little bit obsessed with handbags. 😉 So, with my Rose Pink handbag in mind, I looked around Express and went with a black and white outfit which would show off my handbag. After trying on a few looks and choosing my outfit for day two, I emerged from the dressing rooms. Upon emerging from the dressing rooms, I found myself trapped by a wall of jewelry as I tried to find the checkout stand. I could not help but notice the designer inspired designs Express had on display for really affordable prices. I snatched up the bracelet in the photos above without hesitation and then realized that jewelry was buy one, get one half off. Who can resist that?! For my second piece, I impulse bought the earrings I am wearing in this post. I know I will get a lot of use out of all of these pieces as I break them up into separate outfits at home with the benefit of my full closet. But for day two, I did a fashion no-no; I was head to almost toe in one brand. Oh well, I beat the heat for under $200, so c’est la vie!

Have you ever had to shop for an outfit under pressure? I would love to hear your story!

Malan Breton showed his spring/summer 2015 collection at New York Fashion Week on September 7, 2015. The collection was filled with extraordinary fabrics, dramatic designs and traditional Chinese touches presented on a wide runway with live string musicians. It was more than a fashion show, it was a full-scale performance show!

The beautiful music, which alternated between a DJ and the live musicians, set the tone for a fabulous and energetic show. There were dancers who kicked off the show before the designs came down the runway and circled around the string musicians. The clothing flowed as the models walked the runway. There were trains, layers and lush fabrics. The men’s clothing offered a shrunken fit with cropped legs and form fitting silhouettes. The women’a clothing offered longer hemlines, layers and soft silhouettes. The color palette offered shades of blue, purple, red, yellow and classic black with touches of gold.

It was a beautiful collection and extraordinary show. To view Malan Breton’s spring/summer 2015 runway show in its’ entirety, please watch the IMG Fashion video below.
