LaVanila Body Butter review

lavanila body butter review

Pictured: body butter c/o LaVanila. Review of LaVanila Body Butter in fresh vanilla lemon

One of my favorite perfumes is LaVanila. When I found out they also made a body butter, I was thrilled! The fabulous thing about LaVanila’s products isn’t just the amazing scent offerings, it is the fact that their products are made from organic ingredients, and not harsh chemicals. Love that!

As a Mother of three, I care a little bit about what I put on my skin, but it is the skin of my children I care A LOT about. This means that I need to be extra careful with their skin since they are young, and what I do to their skin now will last a lifetime.

Summer is upon us, and living in Northern California means my kids will have plenty of outdoor time now, and throughout the summer months. Their skin will take a beating from sun, sticky sunblocks, chlorinated pools, the beach, and more. After they take a bath or shower, I want to be able to nourish their skin, and mine, with something free of harsh chemicals, and made from organic ingredients. I am so happy to be able to use LaVanila Body Butter on their skin!

Not only is the LaVanila Body Butter made from organic ingredients free of harsh chemicals, it actually works to hydrate skin; love that! We all end up with well-nourished skin after using it; especially after a day in the sun or the pool when our skin gets visibly dry.

I am quickly going through my LaVanila Body Butter in fresh vanilla lemon, so when I replace it, I want to try out one of the other scents. They all sound so good! I think vanilla coconut is calling my name to try next; doesn’t it sound perfect for summer!!

You can find LaVanila Body Butter online here. Which scent do you plan to get?

Summer casual Friday

Wearing: rose gold dangle earrings / Chanel sunglasses / lipstick c/o Estee Lauder / one cold shoulder tee / watch c/o Welly Merck (use code BAF20 to save 20% off ) / guitar strap (on major sale!) / casual black satchel / distressed boyfriend jeans / Chanel summer nail polish / Gucci slides (also love this pair under $70)

Happy Friday! Our summer weather is here, so it is time to start rolling out the summer weather wardrobe! Love! I love wearing these loose-fitting, distressed boyfriend jeans on warm days. The distressed portions are like built-in air conditioning! haha

This has become one of my go-to outfits for the warm weather season. Everything I am wearing is extremely comfortable, and easy to just throw on in the morning. Plus, these jeans and tee are machine wash cold. Love that! I can deal with clothing I cannot throw in the washing machine. I need to be able to wash and go with my clothes!

I wore this outfit while out with my ten-year-old daughter earlier this week. She took these photos and is showing a keen interest in photography. While my son and oldest daughter attend our local public school, I homeschool  my ten-year-old daughter through an online school. She has ADHD and the online school is a great set-up for her. They have different curriculum options, and we chose one which gives her the flexibility she needs to stay focused and on task.

The way her schooling works is genius. The school gives us a syllabus and all of the supplies, books, and workbooks she needs for the school-year. I administer the assignments, and organize her week. It’s great because on days when she is able to focus she can work ahead, and on days when she has trouble staying on task, we can stop working and do something else. Sometimes she does school work on the weekends, or after dinner; it just depends on when she feels like she can focus.

The online school she attends has been fabulous since they adjust her curriculum to fit her 170+ IQ. So her math is accelerated! It’s amazing! Plus, she has an accredited teacher she can go-to if something is beyond my expertise. We started to homeschool though an online school when she was in third grade and realized kids with ADHD fall through the cracks in the public school system, and private schools which cater to kids like her cost over $30K a year. We initially thought we would transition her back to public school for sixth grade, but she has decided she would like to continue online school for middle school.

So you might be wondering why I am bringing this up on a fashion blog, well, I do have a point! My daughter snapped these pictures for me and has shown an interest in learning more photography. I am thrilled because her school has a photography elective she can take in sixth grade and it is perfect for both of us! She is excited to learn more about using a DSLR and also learning the artistic side to photography. As a blogger mom, I will benefit because she will be my photographer! Technically, she already takes about one-third of my photos, so she is already my photog, but now, she will be able to take the camera out of auto and into manual. She is excited, and I am thrilled! Yay!

If you have a child with ADHD and you are struggling with your child’d school placement, feel free to contact me. We have been through it all! Her online school has been a lifesaver and has built up her confidence ten-fold. Plus, she has a 4.0 gpa and loves school! That is music to any parent’s ears.

Thanks for stopping by!

XOXO

Aveda Pramasana hair care products

All products c/o Aveda, from left: Aveda Phomollient / Aveda Pramasana purifying scalp cleanser / Aveda Damage Remedy / Aveda Pramasana protective scalp concentrate / Aveda Pramasana exfoliating scalp brush / Aveda Light The Way candle / Aveda thickening tonic

As a busy Mother’s of three, I have to keep my hair routine quick and efficient. I don’t have a lot of time to dry my hair on low heat, use a lot of different products, and style it into a perfect ‘do. I use a limited number of products; and they need to be efficient, just like my morning routine.

With all of the hair care products I use on my hair; plus all of the heat styling I do on high heat-so it works faster, it is so important to take care of my scalp! I am so happy that Aveda’s Pramasana scalp care line has amazing products which exfoliate the scalp, leaving it squeaky clean, and free of product build-up. Love that!

I have found that if I use the Pramasana purifying scalp cleanser once a week, my scalp is a lot less dry. Although I don’t use a lot of styling products, I do blow dry my hair often, along with using products which help protect my hair from the heat. The purifying scalp cleanser clarifies my scalp, getting rid of that yucky product build-up. Love that!

Aveda’s Pramasana protective scalp concentrate is great to put a protective coating on my scalp. It not only protects it from product build-up, but creates a barrier to help protect the scalp from blow dryer heat. I use the concentrate before blow drying my hair. It’s great!

If you are looking for a cleaner scalp, or to protect your scalp, I highly recommend Aveda’s Pramasana collection! Love!
