Casual evening outfit at a speakeasy

wearing: earrings (old, also love this pair) / black top / lipstick / black barrel jeans (on sale) / summer nail polish / black handbag / black boots /

There’s a new speakeasy in downtown Saratoga which opened a couple of months ago. We decided to give it a try! I wore all-black and my comfy barrel jeans since it was a Friday and I was tired from the day. I love a comfy pair of jeans!

The new speakeasy is located behind Bell Tower Cafe and is named Scarlett Cocktail Room & Lounge. They had live music and really fun drinks. The whole place is a vibe, so come with plenty of time because the drinks are carefully crafted and take time to prepare.

My daughter’s drink arrived in a box with smoke. It was quite the show! My drink was pink and came with a beaker. We saw another table with some fire on their drink; and a lot of interesting libations at surrounding tables! I need to go back on a day when I am not exhausted. haha

They also had appetizers, but we had just finished dinner, so we did not order any food. It came from the Bell Tower Cafe kitchen, so I am sure the food was good. Bell Tower Cafe has really yummy brunch. Highly recommend.

So, if you are local and looking for a relaxing, slow night. Scarlett Cocktail Room & Louge is it!

My all-black outfit:

BAF Weekly List

BAF Weekly List from top left: navy dress / lipstick / Hermes summer nail polish / Chanel summer nail polish / Dior summer nail polish / short sleeve sweater / gold hoops / suede high heels / suede boots / black boots / belted tote / caramel top handle bag / canvas tote /

The Nordstrom sale is in full swing, if you haven’t checked it out yet, you can see my favorites from the sale online here.

As we move through the summer season, and look towards the upcoming fall season, we are continuing to see plenty of neutral hues with pops of colors, and a few fun prints. It will still be a season of investment dressing, so continue to steer towards classic styles, high quality, and proper fit.

Suede is gaining popularity for fall, which it always does, but this year it just seems more inviting. Maybe it’s the soft, comfort factor we get from suede. Look for handbags, footwear and clothing items in soft suede.

Western boots are still hot as well as 1960s styles with lower heels. Another upcoming trend to watch is art deco. Think dropped waists and occasional touches of fringe. Although, that isn’t for boots. With a dropped waist, you will want a short heel and simple, smooth leather. Mary Janes will work too! More on that next month. . .

The Sound of Music at Broadway San Jose

wearing: gold hoops / lipstick / navy dress / necklace / summer nail polish / belted tote bag / high heels /

The Sound of Music is happening right now at Broadway San Jose and it’s amazing! If you love the movie, you will love the show too. The cast has the most beautiful voices and they are extremely talented. Loved it!

We attended on opening night, and it was a full house. I wore my navy shirt dress since it can go easily from the office to evening events. It was really comfortable and perfect for the occasion.

Since The Sound of Music is one of my favorite all-time movies, it was so nice to hear the songs live on stage and see the story come alive. That being said, you don’t have to know the movie to enjoy this show. My son doesn’t remember seeing the movie and he loved the Broadway version. So, it’s a great show for everyone; movie fans and non-movie fans. Love that!

What I wore to The Sound of Music at Broadway San Jose:
