Photos from top:

1) There it is! The entrance to the press tent.

2) The Style Network’s “Style Lounge: Styled to Rock” This is where we loved to sit down when we needed to rest our tired feet. It was the THE most fabulous lounge inside the press tent. Rita is wearing a fabulous pair of jeans by 7 for all mankind. Online here.

3) The chandelier inside the Style Lounge. I would love to have this inside my home. A girl can dream. . .

4) Rita, myself and Katie at our favorite rest spot. My outfit details here. Katie is wearing a Diane Von Furstenberg dress and Valentino heels.

5) Papyrus lounge. The stationary brand was giving out fabulous and fashionable cards. They also allowed you to fill out a card to be mailed by Papyrus, for free! In this photo Katie writes and sends a card to a friend. Hello from New York!

6) Close-up of the Papyrus centerpiece. Love!

7) Katie’s shoes. Valentino Rockstuds were quite popular at New York Fashion Week. We saw the shoe style on several fashionable women’s feet in a variety of colors. Black was the most popular. Rockstuds are very of-the-moment. Love!

8) Show monitors. There were two monitors side-by-side which announced the next show. Underneath the monitors were computers where invited guests and press check in for each show.

9) The first thing you see when you enter the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week tent. A constant runway show, marble façade and behind the façade, a beautiful Mercedes Benz!

10) Katie and I on the stairs leaving the tent. We were amused at all the people who stand there watching everyone as they enter and exit the tent. There were people doing this from morning until night. Interesting. . .

I was thrilled and honored when I received an invitation, with a seat, to the Mark and Estel spring/summer 2014 fashion show at New York Fashion Week. This Los Angeles designing duo creates a fabulous collection of ready-to-wear which is perfect for life here in California. Since I was already in love with the designers, knowing I would have a seat at their show was thrilling.

The entire collection Mark and Estel designed for spring/summer 2014 was fabulous. I loved the mix of bright colors with classic black and white. The flowing, full skirts looked graceful on the runway and were styled with a little bit of California sass. Love that!

I cannot wait to get my hands on one of their skirts for spring; as well as the black and white striped dress in the photo above! Love!

Mark and Estel is made in the USA, more reason to love their work!

Below is a press video of the show. What is your favorite look from the Mark and Estel spring/summer 2014 runway at New York Fashion Week?

Academy of Art University showed their spring/summer 2014 collection on September 6, 2013 during New York Fashion Week. The show was held in the largest venue at fashion week; the Theater. The runway wrapped around an additional row of seating in the center of the runway. This made it a little difficult for me to see the models walk the runway; especially since I was in the last row towards the photographers pit. This is my excuse for the poor photos

I absolutely adore the fresh visionaries at the Academy of Art University. It is amazing to see how the minds of fashion students are expressing their art through textiles. The fabrics offered texture and appeared on the runway to be extremely high quality. My favorite look on the Academy of Art University runway was the pale blue printed dress you can see in the final walk photo. The sleeves danced gracefully as the model walked the runway and they added to drama to sweet yet daring daytime dress. Love!

I have included the press video from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week below so you too can enjoy this beautiful show and admire the designs. What is your favorite look on the runway?
