spring 2012

Black and white for spring 2012

The Black and white trend is huge for spring 2012. Designers from New York, Paris, Milan and London paired black with white on their spring 2012 runways and showed the neutral color combination on both classic garments as well as in color blocked “of-the-moment” ensembles. While wearing black and white is considered a classic combination, the two tone look is hotter than normal this season and provides the perfect contrast to the season’s bright colors and sweet pastels.

Black and white is popping up in every way imaginable for the spring 2012 season. Designers are showing black and white shoes, handbags, jewelry and of course apparel. Black and white ensembles can be worn alone, or they can be spiced up with a bright orange handbag or cobalt blue pumps.

No matter how black and white is worn, whether color blocked, alone or spiced up with one colorful item, the black with white trend is hot. So hot, that black and white was also spotted on a few fall runways, showing the world that this trend is here to stay through the year. Love that!

Bright shades for the bright sun

Since spring 2012 is all about color, it is no wonder that spring shades are bright; and anything but shady. Sunglasses for the spring 2012 season are being shown in vibrant hued plastic frames and are taking eyewear to a new level of playfulness. Bright cat-eye frames, wayfarer shapes and 1960’s chic silhouettes are being shown in every color imaginable from pastels through to neon hues.

Playful sunglasses are being shown in solid colors such as turquoise, tangerine, yellow, green, cobalt, red and sunny yellow. In addition to solid colors, eyewear designers are showing colorful patterns such as rainbows and tortoise shell patterns in unexpected colors such as blue and green.

Brightly colored sunglasses are a fun and lighthearted way to rock the color trend this spring 2012 season. The one thing to remember when shopping for a pair of colorful shades is to pick a color which works with the majority of the colors in your wardrobe and also blends well with your skintone.

We found a few fabulous shades on the web and assembled them into the Polyvore set below. We hope you love them! Happy shopping, and stay fabulous
