Top five sunscreens for summer 2014

Summer 2014 is here! That means we all need a fabulous sunscreen to protect our skin. I tested several sunscreens and found five fabulous body sunscreens which are perfect for summer 2014. My sunscreen picks absorb nicely into the skin without leaving a residue and work well for a day of play in the sun! Love that!

What is your favorite sunscreen for the summer season?

Dermalogica skin hydrating booster review

I love being outdoors; which includes swimming, playing tennis, hiking and watching my kids play sports from the sidelines. This means my skin is constantly in the sun, wind; and who knows what! My biggest skincare challenge is keeping my skin moisturized so that it does not get dry, flaky and start to peel. So, I was thrilled when iFABBO sent me a sample of Dermalogica’s Skin Hydrating Booster to test out. This sounded like the product my embattled skin needed!

Dermalogica’s “Skin Hydrating Booster” is used after applying moisturizer. My moisturizer is normally fine, except in the mid to late spring when my skin is in the sun a lot and gets a workout! I applied Dermalogica’s “Skin Hydrating Booster” after my facial cream and it added a little bit of softness to my skin. I proceeded to watch my daughter’s soccer game and then my son’s little league game; leaving my face out in the sun and wind for roughly three hours.

When I got home, I was thrilled! Instead of my skin feeling dry, it felt perfect! My skin felt the same after three hours in the sun as it had when I first left the house in the morning before the games. This is definitely the add-on my skin needs on days when I am outside!

I will rate Dermalogica’s “Skin Hydrating Booster” five out of five stars 😉

Dermalogica’s “Skin Hydrating Booster” is priced at $56 and can be found online here, here and here. Use code BOOST to receive 15% off your purchase now through May 31, 2014.

Lancome Visionnaire Blur review

On March 1, 2014 Sephora launched Lancome’s new “Visionnaire Blur”  cream. This extraordinary innovation from Lancome minimizes or “blurs” all those imperfections on one’s face which can add age to skin. One minute after application, Lancome’s “Visionnaire Blur” minimizes fine lines, discolorations and large pores. These are all problems I have with my skin!

I was fortunate enough to receive a sample of Lancome’s “Visionnaire Blur” for review from Sephora in mid-February. Over the past couple of weeks I have been able to put Lancome’s “Visionnaire Blur” to the test. After all, I have sun damaged skin, so it can be pretty tough to minimize anything on my face without concealer and foundation!

I was thrilled when I tested Lancome’s “Visionnaire Blur” because my fine lines seemed less visible and my uneven skin tone appeared to have been covered up; it was almost as if I had put on a light layer of concealer! I have large pores in my t-zone, those were still visible but did not seem AS visible as usual. I did my usual skin care routine which involves washing my face and applying face cream with SPF 30. After I applied my face cream, I used Lancome’s “Visionnaire Blur” and I could see the results right away. Love that!

Lancome has also come out with an eye cream in their “Visionnaire” line which I definitely need to get my hands on to try!

Lancome’s “Visionnaire Blur” starts at $55 and can be found online at Sephora.
