It is so nice to be able to wear a dressy summer outfit and have someplace to go! I cannot believe how amazing it is that life is getting back to normal. After the year-long shutdown, it is so nice to be able to put on a dressy summer outfit, meet up with a friend, and freely walk around and have fun! I will never take that for granted again!

Last week, I put on this dressy summer outfit which consists of this soft prairie skirt, and knit top. Since it’s a summer knit top, the top itself is actually fairly cool, and easy to wear on a warm summer day. Love that!

We met at Santana Row, and ate lunch at Meso Mediterranean. The restaurant has been there for years, but this was the first time we had eaten there. It was so good!! I highly recommend the hummus with the mushroom add-on. It’s amazing! If you love mushrooms like I do, you will love how they cooked these. I’m addicted!

In addition to a delicious lunch, Dawn and I wandered around and popped into a few shops. We started to see a tiny bit of fall starting to creep into stores. Well, that was fast! While I have already dipped into some pre-fall nail polish, I am not sure I am ready for actual fall clothing and accessories yet. Of course, give me a couple of weeks, and I may warm up to the idea. After all, July is when fall normally hits the stores in full force! Can you believe July is in a couple days? Where has this year gone? I feel like it is flying by! But I digress. . .

Santana Row was booming with people walking around, eating out, and shopping. It was so nice to see it crowded and filled with people. I love seeing normal life return to Santa Clara County! It was also freeing to be able to walk into stores without a mask, and see people’s smiles. I really missed seeing smiles! I pray we don’t have another mask mandate in my lifetime. While it didn’t bother me at the time, once we shed the masks, I realized how much I missed seeing people’s faces, and especially their smiles!

It’s so nice to be getting back to life! A couple of weeks ago, I drove over to Capitola Beach to meet my friend Laura from Have Need Want for brunch on the beach. It was a foggy day, but not cold, so I was able to wear my favorite summer tee and this cute little eyelet skirt I purchased for casual summer days. It was perfect for the fog, and brunch on the beach!

I loved being able to have brunch with Laura. If you follow her blog, you know she is having a baby this summer. So I was thankful to be able to see her before the baby is born. She will soon be very busy! We haven’t seen each other in person since before the pandemic, so we instantly began chatting away! It was so much fun to talk, and catch up on the last year. We enjoyed brunch at Zelda’s on the beach, and walking around town window shopping while chatting. Loved it!

Although we met for brunch, I decided to order a sandwich. It was delicious, and, as always, Zelda’s fries are out of this world. Yummy!

These wedge espadrilles have been my go-to espadrilles for summer looks I want to elevate a little bit for the past few years. They were super comfortable for walking around, as well as standing in place while we chatted. I also own a darker tan pair, as well as a black pair. If you don’t have a pair yet, I highly recommend snapping up at least one pair. They are under $100, and are easy to walk in. I love how soft these wedges are too. They really are perfect for the beach, as well as really hot summer days. Love!
