Pamella Roland showed her fall/winter 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week on February 12, 2016 at Pier 59 Studios. I had the opportunity to go backstage before the show and check out the fabulous hairstyles being created by Ted Gibson using L’Oreal Professionnel hair care products. The hairstyles were sleek, sophisticated, and modern. Loved them!

The hairstyles were designed in line with Pamella Roland’s inspiration for her fall 2016 runway collection. In order to achieve this, Ted Gibson, Celebrity Stylist and Owner of Ted Gibson Salon stated: “This season we were inspired by modern architecture and the city of Tokyo. We wanted the models to look as if they had just traveled through Japan.”

I am in love with this timeless yet modern hairstyle; and it looked amazing with Pamella Roland’s fall 2016 collection! I loved being able to see the process from start to finish when I was backstage with L’Oreal Professionnel at Pamella Roland. This is an easy hairstyle to replicate in five easy steps using L’Oreal products.

Here is how you can get the Pamella Roland runway hairstyle at home! All you need to do is buy a fabulous headband, such as this one online here.

STEP 1: Before styling, slip headband on model (or yourself) and let it rest around the neck until use.

STEP 2: Use L’Oreal Professionnel Volume Envy extra mousse to dampen hair and begin to brush hair back into ponytail. Ponytail should sit on the occipital. Use bungee to secure.

STEP 3: Please headband on the head.

STEP 4: Apply L’Oreal Professionnel Volume Envy extra mousse to the tail of the ponytail and wrap hair into a bun. Secure with pins.

STEP 5: Complete style using L’Oreal Professionnel Lumi Controle wax and L’Oreal Professional Infinium 3 hairspray to control and polish hair.

Marcel Ostertag showed his fall/winter 2016 collection at New York Fashion Week on February 11, 2016 at the Skylight Clarkson. The fall 2016 collection, took it’s inspiration from a common weather trait of the autumn season; rain.

The “rain” theme was apparent throughout the show. Marcel Ostertag used the rain theme on his sweaters which featured large raindrops. There were also rain slicker plastic inserts blocked into many of the skirts on the runway. This gave “rain” an entire new imagine; one that is cool, rather than wet. Love that!

Marcel Ostertag used texture and fabric blocking throughout his collection, using fabrics on skirts and dresses which unexpected, and fresh. The mix of texture on many of the skirts added a sophisticated yet playful vibe which was a fresh take on standards skirts; and rain gear.

The color palate, which was mainly light blue, grey, navy, and burgundy, evoked a fall feeling of grey skies, light blue rain water, evening sky navy, and burgundy leaves. The colors were cohesive with the theme, and helped complete the collection. Even the sequins were arranged like rain drops, which danced as the models moved down the runway.

I am in love with the trench coats, everything blue, and the fabulous long burgundy gown pictured above. Which pieces are your favorite from the collection?

The A Detacher fall 2016 collection went down the runway on Thursday, February 11, 2016 and gave everyone something cozy to covet for fall. While temperatures in New York dipped down into the 20’s, the models on the A Detacher fall 2016 runway donned cozy knit hats, warm sweaters, loose yet fitted jackets, and warm outfits which proved you can be layered up and still be a walking fashion plate. Love that!

A Detacher’s fall 2016 color palette included warm shades of brown, pops of bright pink, occasional red accents, neutrals, and enticing dark green. The patterns were artistic, the sleeves were voluminous, and the belts were drool-worthy. I cannot imagine anyone doing better knits for fall than A Detacher. They were groundbreaking!
