Yvette is an amazing couture designer who is based in both Miami and New York. This Architect turned Designer makes all of her beautiful pieces by hand. After seeing two of her gowns modeled at “The New FNO” on September 7, 2013 during New York Fashion Week, I was honored to meet Yvette and be invited to visit her showroom in the garment district.

She has four designs on display in her New York showroom which were unlike anything other designers are creating. Yvette’s eye for fashion and her natural knack for architecture has enabled her to design artistic gowns which not only flatter a women’s figure but adapt to the owner’s personal style. Love this!

Many of Yvette’s pieces offer structure and softness; creating the perfect contrast. The structured gowns which do not have fabric underneath are perfect for a woman who would like to make the pieces her own. One could wear a bra-like top underneath for a racy look or a skin-tight cat-suit for a more dramatic and covered-up look. The possibilities for wearing Yvette’s pieces are endless!

I took a break from the shows at Lincoln Center to head over to the garment district and visit one of my favorite emerging designers; Kal Rieman. Every season Kal Rieman creates classic pieces which can be mixed and matched together for a timeless look or on-trend ensemble. Love that!

Kal Rieman’s workspace was inspirational. She had her current fall collection on one side of the room and her new spring 2014 samples on the other. The new spring 2014 collection looked amazing on the hanger, I cannot wait to see how it will look on models!

For spring 2014, Kal Rieman is showing light colors, plaids and prints as well as flowing silhouettes. Many of the pieces can easily be worn to the office or paired with a casual skirt or jeans for a relaxed weekend look. I love how her entire collection is based on investment dressing rather than fast fashion.

My three favorite samples from Kal Rieman’s spring 2014 collection are pictured above. I love how the hemlines are still pinned! Stay tuned for pictures of her spring 2014 on models!

Mara Hoffman’s spring/summer 2014 collection was fabulous! There is no other way to describe it. The prints, the colors, the fabrics; everything was amazing. I loved the long hemlines and the side slits. The collection had a vibrant, laid-back vibe which evoked a relaxed-yet-fabulous hot summer day.

I loved the tie-dye prints and Native American inspired patterns. The long dresses and midi-skirts are officially on my wish list for spring 2014!
