Fall is just around the corner and I have added a few new products to my beauty bag! This month I am heavy on new products from Estee Lauder. I love their foundation, so the double wear foundation is a natural addition to my beauty bag. It is long lasting and doesn’t clog my pores; a plus since I am very acne prone!

This mattifier from Estee Lauder is amazing because I have oily skin and it helps keep the shine down. Also, if it’s humid outside, Estee Lauder’s The Mattifier keeps my skin from getting shiny. Love using this under my foundation!

Do you see the orb at the bottom of this post? That is the crazy cool packaging Estee Lauder’s new Advanced Night Repair eye cream came in! Isn’t it fun!! I had to take a picture and share it with you! So very cool packaging aside, this eye cream is fabulous. It minimized fine lines under my eyes and does not clog pores. I am addicted! If you are looking to add one thing to your skin care routine right now, this is the product you need! Like I said, I’m addicted!

When it’s hot outside, I notice my makeup melts off my face. When I was in Florida last month, my makeup was gone as soon as I exited the hotel! I wish I had this fabulous product from Estee Lauder. It’s called “Set + Refresh” and it does exactly that. It has a refreshing spritz which sets your makeup and prevents it from melting off your face. This product is genius! How did I live without it for so many decades???

Trying to make fall happen

We have been so lucky to get fog every morning the past couple of weeks. It feels like fall weather, and the fog has put my mind in a fall mood. I’m over summer weather, and really want fall to happen; let’s make fall happen!

It is really nice to be able to wear my fall jeans, and move my feet back into booties. I love being able to grab a scarf and cozy up in the morning when the temperatures are in the 50’s. Of course, the fog usually burns off, and we are left with temperatures in the 80’s by 3pm. <sigh>

I’m just going to pretend those warmer temperatures aren’t happening, and I am just going to make fall happen; it will happen! In the meantime, this outfit is perfect for volatile temperatures. I can add a scarf when it’s cool outside, and then wear it as-is for the rest of the day. These booties are comfortable, and the split shaft keeps them cool when temperatures heat up. Love that!

I wore this outfit the other day when I took my kids to Santana Row for lunch. We ate at The Counter and I tried the “Impossible Burger” for the first time. It was really good! If you haven’t tried it yet, definitely give it a go. I enjoyed mine with cranberries, cheese, pesto, and fries. It was delicious! After lunch, we went over to the Hello Kitty Cafe and picked up a few sweet treats for the family. I didn’t realize the Hello Kitty Cafe at Santana Row is a pop-up shop. It will only be on-site until spring 2019; I guess that qualifies as a long-term pop-up shop? haha, be sure to stop in before they pop away!

Fall 2018 fitness routine

outdoor yoga beach yoga beach yoga

So you might be wondering why there are beach yoga photos on a post about fall fitness, well, this activity was the inspiration for one of my workouts in my new fall 2018 fitness routine.

When I was in Florida with Chico’s, they hosted a beach yoga workout the morning before we all flew home. It was a beautiful experience and reminded me how good yoga can feel. I was in a car accident in the late 1990s. A women ran a red light and t-boned my friend’s car. I was sitting in the backseat, and despite my seat-belt, I was tossed sideways and hit my head on the interior of the car. I was out for a minute and later diagnosed with a concussion and whiplash. Without thinking, I settled with the insurance company instead of suing; which in hindsight, I should have done. I have permanent damage to my neck and upper spine from the accident. This results in chronic pain which can affect my activities.

Yoga can temporarily relieve some of this pain, and it also reduces the stress I hold onto from my daily life. In addition to relieving stress, it stretches out muscles I use when I workout, and it also helps reduce injury from my fitness activities, and life in general.

So, I have decided to incorporate yoga into my weekly routine for the fall season. I’m excited to see how this new fitness routine works!

Monday: Spin class (interval cardio)

Tuesday: Body Blast (interval strength training)

Wednesday: Body Combat (cardio kick boxing)

Thursday: Strong by Zumba (interval strength and cardio) (not sure how I like this yet-will report back in a couple months)

Friday: Yoga (stretching? How do you categorize this? haha)

Saturday: Spin (cardio)

Sunday: rest

Well, I’m excited to see how this new routine works for me. My goal was to lose ten pounds over summer vacation, but I only lost five. I am still going to consider that a win, and see if I can lose ten pounds by Christmas! Wish me luck!

What are you doing for fitness this fall season? Do you do yoga? Which types?

Thanks for stopping by!
