fall 2012

Cameo jewelry for fall 2012

One of the many jewelry trends for fall 2012 is the cameo. With the statement jewelry trend from the past two years still being at the forefront of runway fashion and street style, and the new vintage jewelry trend for fall, the cameo has turned up as the perfect way to fuse the two together.

Designers and brands such as Lanvin, Twisted Silver and Alexander McQueen have created both bold cameo designs as well as feminine, sweet cameos which are statement making and can also become a signature piece. While Lanvin and Twisted Silver have opted for traditional cameos for fall 2012, Alexander McQueen has created the skull cameo; would you expect anything else from McQueen?

Cameo jewelry for fall 2012 is being shown in both small versions as well as large, bold, statement making pieces. Since this is an emerging trend, the fall 2012 season is the perfect time to pick up a cameo piece.

Cameo jewelry works well with vintage inspired ensembles and is a great way to add femininity to the menswear trend; or add some edge with a skull cameo.  Cameos are considered a statement piece, whether the cameo itself is large or small. A cameo necklace, bracelet or pair of earrings should be worn with understated jewelry; or worn alone. Cameos can be paired together for fall 2012 if the cameos are small and made from the same material; and do not compete with each other. As in this photo from Twisted Silver’s fall 2012 collection.

Envelope clutches for fall 2012

Envelope clutches have been a huge handbag trend over the past year. The envelope style clutch in particular has been gaining popularity both on the runway and on the street. This classic handbag style has taken on a modern and fresh look for the fall 2012 season.

For fall 2012 the envelope clutch is free of detachable shoulder straps and offers an ever-so-slightly-slouchy silhouette. The slouchiness of envelope clutches for the fall 2012 season offers a fine line between fall 2011’s ultra-soft and slouchy silhouettes and fall 2010’s structured, classic frames. The envelope clutch for fall 2012 is right in between the two styles and offers more versatility than one over the other.

Fall 2012’s envelope clutches can easily breeze from day into night; as well as from casual dress to dinner attire. Envelope clutches for fall are being shown in every fabrication imaginable including leather, exotic skins, nylon, faux leather and vegan fabrics.

The color palette is vast and offers something for everyone. Envelope clutches for fall are being shown in every color of the season including classic autumn hues such as mustard, orange, red, chocolate brown and black as well as on-trend shades of purple, fuchsia, Tangerine, cobalt and green.

The envelope clutch is a great investment handbag since the silhouette is classic and the lines are clean. Envelope clutches will not dominate an outfit and can easily blend into the background while complimenting an ensemble.

If the envelope clutch is a trend you just want to test out, then this is one trend to look for in the handbag departments at Target and affordable stores. If you LOVE clutches and know this is a style and trend you plan to rock daily this fall season, as well as into the future, then look for a high quality investment handbag from Lanvin, Balenciaga and Givenchy. T-Strap shoes for fall 2012

There are many shoe trends for fall 2012, but the most demure shoe trend for the cool weather season happens to be the t-strap. T-Straps for the fall 2012 season are anything but conservative. Shoe designers have delved into their avant-garde imaginations and created twists on traditional t-straps as well as designs which are anything but understated.

The t-strap shoe for fall offers embellishments, rocker-chic studs, girly crystals, color blocking, metallic trim and more. Plain and solid colored t-strap shoes need not apply for the fall season; their place is in storage.

T-Strap shoes are the focal point of an ensemble for the fall 2012 season and should be paired with neutral or solid colored outfits. The idea this season is not to have the t-strap compete with garments or other accessories; rather, t-strap shoes are statement making pieces in and of themselves. This is fabulous news for shoe lovers who love to assemble their wardrobe around a shoe purchase

T-Straps for fall 2012 are also being shown in new ways. Instead of a classic strip of fabric going down the top of the foot, many designers have opted for curvy shapes, geometric pieces and twisted double straps in order to create the modern t-strap. These are not t-strap shoes which would pass a uniform check. The t-strap shoes we are seeing for fall are fun, light-hearted and pieces of art.

We found a few stand-out, statement making t-strap shoes for fall and assembled them together into the Polyvore set. Happy shopping and stay fabulous
