College Station TX recap

Spring break was a couple quick trips. We took a whirlwind trip to College Station, Texas to visit Tex A & M. It is a college town a lot of traditions and an overall friendly, good vibe. Love!

One of the traditions my son liked was the “12th Man” which relates to the fans always being ready for the coach to put them in. This goes back to an old story when the school played a game and were short a player, so a fan got ready on the sidelines in case he needed to be put on the field. He never did go in the game, but they did win the game and felt like the “12th man” was a lucky charm, thus the tradition began. It was a really cool story and tradition.

It seems like every school has a tree with a legend. My daughter’s school has a tree which will grant you a 4.0 if you study under it. Texas A & M has the century tree pictured above. It can grant you lifelong love with your significant other and countless proposals happen every year underneath it. So cute!

Across the street from the school there is a fun restaurant named “Red’s Ice House.” The food was really good. I enjoyed fish and chips while my son enjoyed a burger. I highly recommend it if you are in town!

Rosa’s Cafe & Tortilla Factory is a fast casual restaurant way from campus. Is has a large menu and decent tex-mex food. I recommend it for a quick meal at a good price. Plus, the staff is really friendly and helpful. Loved that!
I think it would be really fun to go back for a football game someday. It was a nice campus and I was impressed overall.
