Peacoat and barrel jeans

wearing: sunglasses / pearl earrings / blue sweater / peacoat (on sale!) / winter nail polish / handbag / black barrel jeans / black boots /

Although the sun has been shining, the mornings are cool and the window of warmth in the afternoon is short. That’s winter for you! I am thankful for this warm and cozy peacoat so I can stay warm in this winter season.

Since the sun has been shining, I am in the mood to brighten up my wardrobe. This bright blue sweater is perfect for adding some spring color to my winter look. Also, it’s been fun wearing my old Balenciaga City bag! I love that it is back in style. More about that here.

I wore this cozy outfit to Stanford Shopping Center last week to see if anything new for spring has sprung up on store shelves and also enjoy a delicious lunch. Sorry to report, the stores were mostly winter.

Did you know there is a Dumpling Time at Stanford Shopping Center? It’s tucked away in a corner, so if you didn’t know it was there, now you do! I plan to go back when the weather warms up because they have an amazing outdoor patio. I am sure you already know about their delicious xlb and other dumplings, but you must try the Beijing Noodles too. They are really yummy!

If you want a classic peacoat, this one is at a fabulous price under $100! Love that!

Land’s End canvas tote review

How cute is this small version of Land’s End classic canvas tote bag! Love!

So, I already own the medium sized tote from Land’s End in red. I have used it for several years and love the durability, practicality, and timeless appeal. So, I thought the small version would come in handy for going to the gym, the beach, and anytime I want a casual tote. Love it!

The interior of the small tote has one small pocket and one large pocket. This is handy for keeping smaller items such as Kleenex, lipstick, and receipts in order. There is also a key strap, just like in the larger tote, which hooks onto your keychain so you can easily find your keys. Love!

In addition, the exterior features a small pocket, which I haven’t found a use for yet, but might be useful in the future. We shall see! You can also have the tote personalized, just like with the larger sizes. My medium tote is not personalized, but I thought it would be fun to personalize the canvas tote. You can choose your color and font. I love the blue I chose, but next time I might go with a darker color.

You can also add a cross-body strap! After using the tote for a few weeks, I have come to the conclusion I should order the strap. I think it would be nice to have the option of using the tote hands-free.

The canvas tote from Land’s End is available in a variety of colors, so the color combos with personalization are endless. Love that! I plan to get a lighter color as we move into spring. This is such a great little canvas tote!

If you are looking for a casual small tote, or if you are interested in one of the larger sizes, I highly recommend the Land’s End canvas tote bag. The medium canvas tote has five pockets, and the small canvas tote has three pockets. The price is right, plus they are extremely durable. Love that!

Winter day in the city

wearing: sunglasses / pearl earrings / peacoat / scarf / sweater / black handbag / nail polish / black barrel jeans / black boots /

It has been beautiful in the city lately! After the series of storms which hit the Bay Area, the city was clear skies and sunshine. Love!

We decided to enjoy the last of the holiday decorations around Union Square before they were taken down. After shopping at the Nintendo store, we walked around Macy’s to see the beautiful decorations throughout the store. Then we headed over to my husband’s favorite restaurant in the city, John’s Grill.

I enjoyed their lobster ravioli while my husband enjoyed a burger. My kids ate a combination of pasta and burgers. Everything was delicious as usual. Highly recommend.

After lunch, we went back up to Union Square to walk around and enjoy the tree before it gets taken down in the new year. Then, we went back to the car and headed over to the Cliff House for views and exercise. It was the perfect day!

If you are visiting the area, or you are local, I highly recommend enjoying a meal at John’s Grill and also enjoying the scenic paths around Sutro Bath and the Cliff House. You will enjoy it!
