In case you noticed, my fall capsule wardrobe is trimmed down this season. This is due to the fact that I lost close to thirty pounds since April. Yes, you read that correctly! I have lost exactly twenty-eight pounds since April.

My weight has been creeping up over the last several years, and my doctor finally read me the riot act. She put me on a diet! I am glad she did, because I am back to my normal weight, and my older clothing fits! That being said, the clothing pieces you have seen me wear over the past few years are all way too big on me now.

My hope in moving towards capsule wardrobes each season was to reduce my purchases, and have a more sustainable closet. In keeping with this spirit, my fall capsule wardrobe is small this season because I am starting over! I have had to purchase new jeans and tee’s which fit me. So the next couple seasons, I will be re-building my wardrobe; little by little! The clothing that is too big now, I am donating to charity.

So, in order to start over, I purchased these dark wash denim jeans earlier this month, as well as these black jeans for the cool weather season. They are perfect for the fall season, and will also work well into the holiday and winter seasons.

I love fashionable tee’s! My fabulous, puff sleeve tee’s from the last few seasons are way too big now; I look like I am swimming in them. Therefore, I need to re-build my tee wardrobe. I am starting with this beige, puff sleeve tee which is ideal for fall, and also this long sleeve black tee since it is basic, and will carry me through fall, winter, and the holiday season.

What if I need to dress up? Ah! My dresses are huge, so if I need a dress, I will buy one when the time comes. In the meantime, this pleated green skirt, with an asymmetrical hemline, is perfect for the fall and holiday seasons. I love the movement it offers and the emerald green hue. I hope to pick up another top to wear with it this season, but in the meantime, I will wear this puff sleeve black top, and a pair of heels.

Oversize, chunky cardigan sweaters are hotter than hot this fall season, so this neutral hued cardigan will be perfect for keeping me cozy during the cooler months. Love it!

I am lightening up for the summer 2021 season! For my summer 2021 handbag capsule wardrobe, I am using my basket bag as my carry-all for days when I need to carry a lot of things, as well as for beach days, or when I wear espadrilles. It looks fabulous with espadrilles.

In addition to my beloved basket bag, I am deep into the pouch trend this summer! I started last year with my large black pouch, then I picked up this cute little yellow pouch with a cross body strap for some variety. Then, I broke down and splurged on this dark brown pouch with a chunky chain. All three pouches work with different outfits and serve different style purposes, yet they are all functional and fun to wear. I love a soft pouch!

Of course, no summer 2021 handbag capsule wardrobe would be complete without the 2021 IT bag! My beloved Prada Cleo is a fabulous everyday hobo bag which is just large enough to fit my wallet, phone, keys, mask, hand sanitizer, and keys. It’s also lightweight and easy to wear over my shoulder. Love! You will see me in this bag a lot over the summer season!

As always, my handbag capsule wardrobe contains classic bags which can be worn throughout the year, regardless of seasons; with the exception of the basket bag which is a spring/summer bag. My basket bag is classic, thankfully, so it will be easy to pull out next spring and summer; and for many spring/summer seasons thereafter! Love investment bags!

Summer is almost here! The first thing in my closet ready for summer, was my summer shoe capsule! I only purchased one pair of shoes for the summer 2021 season; these square toe loafers. Square toe loafers are a huge emerging shoe trend, and I want to be ready for the trend to be on fire this fall. This pair of loafers is perfect since they are a neutral hue which plays well with both summer, and fall color palettes. Plus, they are soft, and comfortable to walk around in. Love that!

The yellow slides, black slides, and sculpted heel slides are pulled from my spring capsule. They worked well in the spring season, and will continue to work well in the summer season. The puffy shoe trend, and comfort slide trend, are both still relevant in the summer season, so they are easy shoes to continue to wear. Plus, sculpted heels are gaining momentum on the streets, and will likely continue well into the fall season. This is pair of sculpted heel mules is a great investment to wear now and throughout the rest of the year.

I can never get enough sneakers! These Gucci platform sneakers are super comfortable, and have been in my shoe collection for a couple of years now. They are perfect for days which require walking, travel, and general everyday comfort. They will continue to get a lot of wear from me! In addition, these canvas boat shoes serve the same purpose, but are much more comfortable on warm summer days. They can be worn without socks, and offer coolness plus comfort while walking. They have already been getting a lot of wear during the spring season, I anticipate they will get a ton of wear this summer as temperatures continue to warm up. They are a must-have this summer for travel and walking days!

Summer 2021 espadrilles

Espadrilles are a must-have every summer. Not only are they soft and comfortable for walking, they are cool on hot days, and allow for easy walking on the beach. I cannot live without espadrilles in the summer! This pair of wedge espadrilles is a summer go-to for me. I have owned them for several years, and have purchased them in black and a darker tan color throughout the years. The ivory hue is my favorite. It seems to go with everything. Plus, they are priced under $100 which is always fabulous!

Another classic pair of must-have espadrilles are these classic flats. I have them in both black and grey. They are comfortable, easy to walk in, and ideal for hot summer, casual days. They go with shorts, casual skirts, sundresses, and pants. Love!

This summer, since things are opening up, and I plan to go places, I decided to invest in a pair of leather espadrilles. This tan pair is a great neutral hue which is easy to wear with almost anything. They are very comfortable and look more structured for lunches and daytime events than the canvas pairs. They are a great alternative for being casual, yet put-together. They are also from my spring capsule, and I have loved wearing them. I may pick up an ivory pair as the summer progresses. The ivory is a really pretty color, and the style is classic, so they can be worn every summer. Love!

What shoes are you wearing this summer? This is my summer 2021 capsule wardrobe, which may seem larger than my usual shoe capsule wardrobes, but they are mostly repeat shoes from spring and previous seasons; so this summer shoe capsule is a culmination of several investment pairs of shoes. I love a good investment shoe which can be worn season after season, year after year! It’s a great way to save money; so you know, we can buy handbags. haha
