Sacramento trip day two

The second day of my Sacramento trip with Broadway San Jose was so amazing! If you missed day one, you can read it here.
We woke up and enjoyed breakfast, then headed straight to the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. The cast and crew were already buzzing around the venue preparing for the second evening’s performance of “Some Like it Hot.” A few members took some time out of their busy schedule to meet with us and fill us in on some inside info from the traveling Broadway show!
It was really fun to learn about the ins and outs of a traveling show and how much work it actually is! I am starting to think the cast and crew never sleep! They are either performing or preparing for the show all day long, six days per week. On the seventh day, they are busy traveling to the next show as well as packing and unpacking the show! They work hard!
I had the honor of interviewing the Star Dresser and Jerry/Daphne actor Tavis Kordell. It was interesting to learn about the handmade costumes, the work it takes to keep up the costumes on an almost daily basis, and how they are specially made for each actor. The costumes are couture, and each piece is truly special. I wish you could see them up close!
Of course, you can see them on stage this upcoming October when “Some Like it Hot” is on stage in San Jose! You can find tickets to the show at BroadwaySanJose.com. My family and I will be attending, I hope you go too! It will be amazing!
This was such a fun trip and I am grateful that Broadway San Jose included me so I could learn about the costumes and see everything up close. I have a deeper appreciation for Broadway now and can’t wait to see the show!
Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to visit BroadwaySanJose.com for details and ticket info!
XOXO
