Winter outfit ideas for a Broadway San Jose show

Well, I am not sure why this video looks so grainy when I embed it on my website. Hopefully you can still see the outfits and get the idea!

Broadway San Jose has a fabulous line-up of shows, and you might be wondering what to wear to them! Also, these looks can work in any city if you are not in the Bay Area. In a colder climate? Just add a coat! Love!

So, without further ado, here are three outfit ideas for attending a Broadway Show!

Outfit one: Day into evening: Attending a show on a weekday? You will likely be wearing what you wore to the office that day. I recommend something comfortable for the long haul such as trousers, boots, and a lightweight sweater you can top with a coat and scarf.

Outfit two: Weekend matinee: Attending a show during the day on Saturday or Sunday? A long sleeve dress is perfect! This one happens to be under $100. Love that! You can easily top it off with a coat.

Outfit three: “A Beautiful Noise” is playing on Broadway San Jose and Neil Diamond’s music deserves some sparkle. Why not wear your New Years Eve outfit and sparkle! Love this! My dress happens to be under $100 too. Love! If you are attending a different evening show, feel free to wear something fun and in theme with the show, so go for outfit one or two. They are all appropriate for evening weekend shows too!

Some Like It Hot! Broadway San Jose

About last night. . .

Last night we attended opening night of “Some Like It Hot!” hosted by Broadway San Jose. It was such an amazing production! I love the music, the costumes, and the comedic moments. It was such a fun show!

We arrived early in order to enjoy a glass of wine before the show. It was so nice to go out on a weekday-it breaks up the week! haha, love that!

There’s nothing like Broadway. So, I love that fact that we have traveling Broadway shows right here in San Jose in a beautiful venue known for its architecture. I highly recommend catching “Some Like It Hot!” before it travels away!

You can find ticket info at BroadwaySanJose.com.

Sacramento trip day two

wearing: earrings / tee shirt / tweed blazer / fall nail polish / belted tote / black trousers (similar here) / black loafers /

The second day of my Sacramento trip with Broadway San Jose was so amazing! If you missed day one, you can read it here.

We woke up and enjoyed breakfast, then headed straight to the SAFE Credit Union Performing Arts Center. The cast and crew were already buzzing around the venue preparing for the second evening’s performance of “Some Like it Hot.” A few members took some time out of their busy schedule to meet with us and fill us in on some inside info from the traveling Broadway show!

It was really fun to learn about the ins and outs of a traveling show and how much work it actually is! I am starting to think the cast and crew never sleep! They are either performing or preparing for the show all day long, six days per week. On the seventh day, they are busy traveling to the next show as well as packing and unpacking the show! They work hard!

I had the honor of interviewing the Star Dresser and Jerry/Daphne actor Tavis Kordell. It was interesting to learn about the handmade costumes, the work it takes to keep up the costumes on an almost daily basis, and how they are specially made for each actor. The costumes are couture, and each piece is truly special. I wish you could see them up close!

Of course, you can see them on stage this upcoming October when “Some Like it Hot” is on stage in San Jose! You can find tickets to the show at BroadwaySanJose.com. My family and I will be attending, I hope you go too! It will be amazing!

This was such a fun trip and I am grateful that Broadway San Jose included me so I could learn about the costumes and see everything up close. I have a deeper appreciation for Broadway now and can’t wait to see the show!
